still as of yet unnamed spaceship pilot and space dragon queen ocs

queen met pilot when they were both children, though the queen didn't yet know how to take on a humanoid form. they became friends of a sort, until the queen had to take her leave. a few years later the queen snuck into the pilot's high school and befriended her again, the pilot feeling a strange sense of familiarity but being unable to place why.

their relationship deepened considerably, until the queen revealed she wasn't human and that she wanted the pilot to be her partner (in both the romantic and political senses)- at the same time giving the pilot a 'gift' in the form of a changed appearance and certain abilities unique to the queen's species. the pilot freaked out a little, and rebuffed the queen. the queen then took her leave from the pilot's life.

the pilot came to regret this over the rest of her school career, and decided to become a pilot with the [insert intergalactic space force name here]. she studied hard, honed her piloting skills, and a few years later with experience under her belt she met the queen again...

i randomly decided they have the ability to transform, but the longer they stay away from one of their base forms the more likely there is to be a "rebound" effect that causes them to turn into something random

i made another new character

they're a thomasynalike! that term probably has very little meaning to most people but it is a category of characters of mine.

their name is y, which is incredibly hard to search in file explorer so all the files they're featured in have "y the unsearchable" somewhere in the filename.

they were a relatively normal (relatively) person living a quiet life in a remote village with their guardian/parental figure. one day a member of a wide reaching cult comes to the village and inadvertently breaks a seal placed on y by their guardian and it turns out oops they were the result of the cult's attempts to recreate a dragon god that caused the apocalypse. and then they turn into a dragon.

they have no belly button, their hair grows unnaturally fast, and their eyes are red with teal pupils. this combination of oddities did not tip them off that they were some kind of nonhuman Creature in secret.

I fucking love your art especially the way you draw shiny latex surfaces and if it’s not too much trouble, I wanna know how you color that way? I’ve been trying to learn for a while but my brain is not connecting

uhhh id probably need to make a more detailed post for it later but basically it's like. you use a dark color for the base, then you add a couple slightly lighter shades for the lighting and the really bright spots are done with smth really light and a glow dodge layer

i realize this is probably not helpful without visual aides so if i remember i'll add those later
