Always thinking about Harrow not batting an eyelash at the indirect kiss of drinking a glass of water after Gideon had already drank from it...

I mean. She was super mega dehydrated and needed the water badly, but she also wasn't so petty or repulsed to make Gideon rinse the glass/refill it/get a new glass of water, as one might expect Harrow to be. Even Gideon took the gulp out of spite ("a long, malicious pull"), and Harrow just took it and drank anyway, uncaring of the indirect spit swap lmao

another parallel between harrowhark, daughter of pelleamena, and achilles, son of peleus: according to emily wilson’s introduction to the iliad, the poem shows how “the ultimate form of love is to see no difference between the self and the beloved.” i will no longer accept being a stranger to you. patroclus becomes achilles on the battlefield. i gave you my whole life. achilles emulates the dead patroclus by acting like a dead man himself. you’ve made yourself her mausoleum. achilles anticipates “becoming indistinguishable from [patroclus] in death, when their bones are together in one jar”. one flesh. one end. that’s how lyctorhood works, isn’t it?

Maybe someday I will gather the strength to draw a bunch ag once without getting tired and actually start/finish my various animatic ideas that I have had for literal years now:

The Fray "Enough for Now" (segment, not full song) about Zuko and Azula and Ozai (idea backdate: about 6 or 7 years)

"When the Going Gets Tough" (entire song) from the Spongebob Musical, using Team Rocket, mainly James, because Plankton sounds like James and Jesse can be Karen and Meowth can kinda be in there too, Ash = Spongebob and Brock = Mr Krabs, and Team Rocket blasts off at the end. (Idea backdate: about 4 or 5 years)

"Paint My Face" by Devil Makes Three (full song) for the Locked Tomb book series. Spoiler and character heavy, just a tribute to all three books so far. I at least wrote this one out, in terms of image descripts for which lyrics. (Idea backdate: about 2 or 3 years)

"Soup" by Lacrimorta (most of the song, but not all) for specifically Harrow the Ninth. (Idea backdate: literally today lmao, any of their songs from One Flesh, One End is perfect TLT animatic material since its all fan music for fhe books anyway, but Soup is my favorite)

"Lake Ponchatrain" by Ludo (full song), basically with OCs/how i picture the characters and not necessarily how the band members look. But just now searched to see if that one has been done, and it has! By like four people! All good ones too!! A couple of my ideas are different but not enough for me to want to make my own anymore. This idea can be removed from the list, but I wanted to show I'd had it brewing in my noggin. Idea backdate, like fuckin... 12 years? Idk man, basically after a few years of listening to the song i went from imaging it normally to picturing it as an animatic and developing how I might go about that. But way too many drawings and also not necessary now that I know others have done such a good job of it already!

I like Gideon as a focal character because she doesn't really care about the secrets and plot happening around her, she just wants to eat food that isnt paste or gruel and use her sword.

I like Harrow as a focal character because she actually cares too much about the secrets and plot happening around her but she is kind of preoccupied with how she fucked her own head up. She is just here to survive.

I like Nona as a focal character because she cares about the people around her but not really the plot or secrets either because why have secrets when you can be honest?? And she is here to make friends and play with dogs!!

All three of them narratively dont have the whole picture at all, like no idea of the grand scheme of things whatsoever, and even when they finally grasp some of it, huge chunks are still missing, and they do their best anyway. All three of them narratively leave breadcrumbs for the reader to piece together instead, creating a more complete picture, but still not quite.

So i wonder how the next book will go, and what clueless protag we shall follow this time~
