my neighbourhood has never had an ice cream truck. in the summer, we have the knife sharpening truck. it slowly circles the block and rings its ominous bell. i have never seen someone interact with it. it may be that only those marked by death can see it

okay if you work in any environment that requires frequent use of scissors, this truck is like Jesus showing up. We cut ribbon and paper constantly at my job and when OUR knife sharpening guy rolls through town, once in a blue moon, we all run after him in the street waving out hands around like children after the pied piper. We carry our shears out to him like bouquets, shaking because we are so excited to have sharp scissors again.

So anyway we may in fact be marked for death in the way all retail employees are, but shout out to knife trucks everywhere.

One thing I realized when I saw the artfight theme reveal and now with the new banners on the site is how naturally they put human or fantasy charaters side by side with anthro characters. The furry community sometimes feels a little hermetic or separated from the rest of the interenet (or even discriminated at times) but artfight is like, it doesn't matter, it's not relevant what you draw, we are all artists, that's what really matters, and I think that's beautiful

I think I'm going to start keeping a diary again once I'm 17, but this time I want it to be more chill. I started the last one on my 15th birthday and it was just a private sideblog where I posted entries, but I forced myself to write everyday and I kind of got tired of it two months before reaching a year. The new one it's gonna be on a physical notebook a friend gifted me some time ago and I want to write it using my red pens, also just writing when something interesting happens or when I feel like it, no pressures this time

i have so many mutuals who are awesome artists and they’re so cooooolll and I love them all

i personally suck at drawing (and I know that drawing is something you get better at with time! Unfortunately I have a lot of other things to focus on in my life so while I’d love to get better at some point i’m content just looking at others’ art for now) so I have so much respect for the people that have put in all the time and effort that it takes to make the kind of stuff they do right now because they all had to persevere through even on days when they hated the way their art looked or when they couldn’t even bring themselves to pick up a pencil. I think art is super cool, I think artists are super cool, you’re all wonderful people and you make my day with the creations you decide to put out into the world, whether they’re your magnum opus that you’ve been refining over several weeks or just little doodles you made because you had an hour to kill. Thank you to all the artists in my life.
