This what I like(d) about DC, It’s characters, it’s heroes, CARED.

Marvel was about coming to terms with Social issues (X-men, Avengers, Fantastic 4), DC was about giving you hope and someone to aspire to be like.

Why do People hold Batman TAS in such high regard? BECAUSE BATMAN CARED. Bruce Wayne was a victim and he saw his many villains as victims and tried his absolute best to help them. He knew No one is truly evil, and he tried and tried again to help them through their issues. It didn’t matter how many times he failed, he never gave up on them.

Why do we like Superman? Because of scenes like this, Superman carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, not because he has to, but because he WANTS to. because of the values ma and pa kent instilled in him growing up. Clark has a gift, he can do what others can’t. and what way to better use that gift than to help people?

and since we covered 2 of the DC trinity, let’s go 3 for 3

Wonder woman is perhaps the most important, especially to young girls. Diana is from a world where men don’t exist, so gender roles are completely alien to her. For her you have to be strong strong enough to help those who are weaker than you. Even when she comes to our world she does so with humility and compassion. But more importantly she stands up for herself. DO NOT CROSS HER. I should also mention Wonder woman respects everyone even when dealing with women who value “traditional” values, She doesn’t try to change them, she simply respects them and let’s them do as they wish with their own lives.

Sorry for the slight rant but that’s why I liked these 3 in the first place. frankly I’m worried about Batman v. Superman because I feel like they’ll just try to emulate Marvel in order to get ticket sales. and these 3 characters will just get butchered in the process.

i went to Special Edition: NYC yesterday, and I got my second commission from marcusto! unfortunately we were really pressed for time and i didn’t get a chance to see him earlier, so nothing-amazing-happens-here had to pick the sketch up for me today. ;v; he texted me this photo and i love it sososo much.
