what really makes me want to fling myself into the sun over this is because it makes SENSE that sidney would be the self-sacrificing idiot because that has been his CHARACTER ARC THIS SEASON

like, charlotte helped him see that family matters more than anything, and that he should think about the happiness of those he cares about more than his own!! and part of that is making sure that his brother doesn’t lose everything, and so of COURSE he would feel like he has to do this because he LOVES his family and he feels like he doesn’t deserve to be happy if his family loses everything

but he also loves CHARLOTTE and now he’s hurt HER and now i’m emo g o d

Also, I desperately wanted to believe that Sidney wouldn’t do this! But it actually makes total sense. If it was just a case of saving Sanditon he would chose Charlotte. But it’s more than that, it’s his brother in debtors prison. It’s Mary and the children all ruined. We know Sidney loves his family, his brother, his sister in law and his nieces/nephews. Their happiness and well being is obviously more important to him than his own.

But can you imagine what it’s doing to him to have to come full circle and leave Charlotte for money knowing exactly how devestating that feels!

Prepped my copy of ADOW for the real tine read along happening this month. Just waiting for my new copy of TWOAS (can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get around to ordering it!) and then I’m all set and September 18th can just come on ahead. I’m excited it’s my first time participating since I only read the books for the first time in January of this year (2019). I watched the show as is aired and when kit was done I just had to read the books.

I have read all books (the trilogy and Times Convert) several times already. Just a tad obsessed, but I cannot get enough of this brilliant world Deb has created!
