I have to rant AGAIN because it's making me so mad haha I've been to Ithaca on a sailboat once, it was many years ago but the sea when you're sailing on a small-ish boat is something I will never forget: it's unfathomably, blindingly blue; then at dawn and dusk it looks like quicksilver, this infinite moving mass stretching as far as the eye can see. It's the most beautiful thing. It's frightening. It's the perfect subject to build a a visual poetic from. It can contain everything.

But I guess for Nolan the struggle of Man can only be portrayed or represented in the color grading one would use to replicate Manchester, as he is a SERIOUS director making a SERIOUS movie about serious men and DIRT is the colour of serious manly men or something like that so

Like, you have to actively try to make Greece and Sicily look this washed out and bland in summer…

Now I know most Greece scenes are the Cyclops scenes so we probably did not see many of the Greek landscapes in the trailer yet (although from whatever I can discern from the blur around Odysseus and Penelope’s palace it looks like it could be some hill in Messenia with a ton of grey foggy filters) but it is clear that he has set a chromatic tone for his movie and for this tone… travelling all the way to Greece and Italy was really not needed XD

At this point this is such a train of disaster after disaster that it makes me amused rather than annoyed.

I hope he comes forth about the AI allegations though, because if this is true, it will bring his whole reputation down, even his biggest supporters may (and should) turn his back on him if he did that.

Now That ‘Dept. Q’s Fate Has Been Decided, Matthew Goode’s Netflix Series Needs To Address Its Biggest Mystery

Now that Dept. Q has been renewed for Season 2, the Netflix series has to address the mystery that still haunts Carl Morck.

Dept. Q is a rare procedural, as it is just as emotionally gripping as it is compelling as a mystery. The best way for Dept. Q Season 2 to improve upon its predecessor is to get even more personal, and Carl’s backstory offers ample opportunities to tell an emotional story about anxiety, loss, and betrayal. The first season indicates that Carl had some misgivings about the infrastructure of the police department, as he has not been a traditional cop by any stretch of the imagination; giving him more reason to question what his employers are capable of would further test his limits and force him to choose where his loyalties lie. The shooting of Anderson is a great way to introduce the show and explain why Carl was such an aggressive character. However, Dept Q. will need to resolve that storyline first before expanding into the future, so returning to the Anderson case should be a priority for Season 2.

department q is set in Scotland, has some of the best accents I've heard in a while, has a Syrian refugee who was a cop and is sweet but lethal, has all around broken people but supportive of each other, some strained but good family relationships and is entertaining af so you should all watch it

i would say i support akram salim's rights and his wrongs, but he's never done anything wrong ever. bruising that guy's windpipe and throwing that other guy down the stairs? just funny little man of mystery things & not police misconduct in the least. he is naught but a civilian with a particular set of skills 🤗
