Fiyero wouldn't have considered Elphaba a person without Glinda ?! Wow ?! He treated her like a person when they first met ! He's the only one who didn't criticize, judge, and reject her for her green color ? What the hell is that ?
And no, Glinda didn't risk her status by defending Elphaba. She already pretended to be nice to her when they first met, all fake generosity, like, "I'll help you get rid of your green color," etc. And people loved it. Because they're hypocrites. Elphaba wasn't a public enemy yet, so if someone popular defended her, of course they were going to be hypocritical for the most. Glinda isn't at risk at all.
That's the whole point of Glinda ; she can do all sorts of things thanks to her popularity. And she could have done things alongside Elphaba, but she chose not to, except when it was way too late for people to finally believe her against the Wizard propaganda about Elphaba. It's like saying Glinda risked her status by reintegrating the animals. Absolutely not !
And they're really trying to make people believe that Glinda stayed behind not to fuel her own ambition, as Defying Gravity says, and as Fiyero essentially reminds us in Wicked For Good, that she can't resist the love of the crowd, and even Glinda admits she can't resist it...
But no, actually, she stayed to work from within ?! She fucking didn't !
Glinda didn't play the long game to gain political power, for crying out loud. Stop trying to make people believe that about Glinda !
Yes, her popularity actually allowed her to do something against the Wizard and Morrible, but she realized that too late. That's the point.
She didn't play any long political game at all ! What do this person mean about "and she was right" ? Like she worked behind the scenes better than Elphaba and Fiyero and was right to do so ? Glinda never had that in mind !
And what's worse, "that was her plan from the start, and it wasn't the loss of Fiyero and Elphaba that would have woken Glinda up and made her do something" ? Like she always thought like them but had a longer, smarter plan ?! People are crazy !?
At this point, you just want to make Glinda perfect, and sabotage her character development. That's madness.
And of course, trying to make people believe that Elphaba was a less good friend because she didn't listen to Glinda's ideas ?! Wtf ?!

And don't tell me that no, it's part of Glinda's plan, to work with Elphaba from the inside. Your nonsense is fanfiction because there's nothing canonical to support the idea that Glinda was trying to work against the Wizard and Morrible and in favor of the animals, from within. Literally, as usual, it's taking Fiyero's role and giving it to Glinda.
At no point did Glinda truly share Elphaba's values. Damn, in the first movie she didn't even understand how or why Fiyero would have been affected by what happened to Professor Dillamond, who, according to her, was—and I quote—a simply "old goat" !
And it's completely losing Fiyero and Elphaba that woke Glinda OUT OF HER BUBBLE !
They literally added the most literal song in the world about Glinda locking herself away in her little world where she had everything she wanted, and yet no, people are trying to make people believe that Glinda played a long political game against the Wizard and Morrible, that she always shared Elphaba's cause, and that Fiyero and Elphaba's deaths is not the thing that push her to act in the end. That's it was something Glinda always planned !

Glinda stayed with the Wizard and Morrible to fuel her own ambition, and she stayed so long because she couldn't resist the love and admiration of the crowd. The adoration. She retreated into her own little bubble, which allowed her to get everything she wanted.
She only woke up because Nessa and Fiyero died, and Elphaba was also threatened with death. For her, it had gone too far.
It was meeting Elphaba and her impact on her life that allowed her to truly become Glinda the good, making her really care about animals and good in general.
Not that Glinda was evil before and fully supported fascism ; she simply wasn't against it if it allowed her to have everything she wanted. She was stuck in the status quo.
It was the chain of events that caused her to lose the people she cared about that finally woke her up.
She never had a great political plan to get rid of the Wizard and Morrible by gaining political power from within all these years.
By saying that, you're essentially trying to make people believe that Glinda had no real flaws or need for character development. It's insane to twist a film to such an extent to glorify a character designed to be full of flaws and change !
And on top of that, putting down Fiyero and Elphaba to highlight Glinda ? It's so pathetic. I think Glinda's fans annoy me to a level rarely equaled.
