It’s tiring seeing nothing but talk of how much it sucks and fix it fics in ES fanspaces #It keeps on reinforcing how I started on the wrong foot #And I genuinely have no drive to make a lot of TF stuff as a result

Can't believe I never posted this here but I was consumed by Diseases and made humanformers ES Arcee a while ago

It's so rare to even see Earthspark posts in the main "maccadam" tag anymore and then they're usually stuff like, "I want to fix the show and pretend seasons 2 and 3 don't exist" or "I'm watching season 1 and scared of seasons 2 and 3 because everyone says they ruin the show" and I'm just like...

If you reject seasons 2 and 3 you're missing the majority of Robby's and Twitch's arcs and what the themes of those arcs were... those are two of the show's most important characters so those are super key. You'll miss the reveals about all the important lore and themes regarding what Quintus Prime did and its impacts. You're missing all the new characters who are great like Aftermath or Spitfire or the new Titan. You'll miss that the Decepticons were able to leave Earth. Season 2 didn't "ruin" Starscream's arc, it expanded on the plan he was forming that was foreshadowed in his one spotlight episode from the first season, so you'll miss out on learning what that even was. You'll miss one of the most interesting and mysterious concepts for a new TF character, Izzy. You'll miss getting to see any of the new takes on some legacy characters like Cosmos or Prowl, which were great. You'll miss some really cool fight scenes and music. You'll miss Wheeljack beginning to step up as Twitch's Dad2 and start making up for kinda brushing her off before. You're missing out on two of the funniest TF episodes I've ever seen. You're missing out on the show continuing to center a diverse cast that remains very gender-balanced.

I don't know, it just makes me sad. These aren't two separate shows, regardless of what the narrative has been about it. The message of the show really isn't clear if you excise two of the seasons, like it means something and it's important that the Emberstone is destroyed and the Maltos had to learn to do things without it.

#oh my god thank you for this post #I've been needing to get to S2 and S3 and was worried but this feels reassuring and refreshing to hear #ES was my first TF series and I felt intimidated out of continuing with it because I was insisted I was starting wrong #That Transformers is a series all about blood and death and war and suffering and starscream being a woobie wet meowmeow #And not shows to sell transforming robot toys since day 1 and aired on mainstream kids networks with fart jokes and plotholes #I frankly felt extremely stupid in that moment for being the ES super fan in my friend group. I'm slowly coming out of my shell but yeah #Plus iirc ES Cosmos is voiced by Weird Al. That's GOTTA be worth price of admission.#That and as someone who wanted to go into the games industry I wish people would understand how hellish these fields are #Especially now. Networks and publishers and executives will do everything to screw something over #It's a miracle anything comes out tbh #Anyways sorry for the long rant in the tags I just felt very strongly about all this!

#tbh I haven’t had the spoons for TF stuff I’ll be honest #P early on into it I was given the impression I started everything wrong and am liking it wrong #So I kinda. Became way too intimidated to continue going deeper with it #If I can force myself through Animated and/or Prime I might get those spoons back #Since those are ‘real’ TF series as I have been told
