More Bucky as John's kid's stepdad thoughts (I should make a tag for it at this rate):

When the kid turns 15 and gets a driver's learning permit, Bucky offers to take him out driving and he's just like, "I'm not sure if that's a good idea."

Bucky's like, "?? Why not??"

"Because Uncle Sam told me about how one time you ripped the steering wheel out of a car he was in."

Bucky sighs, giving John a side-eye as he's trying not to laugh. "Uncle Sam is...well okay he's not exaggerating, but that was a long time ago! The winter soldier did it; I'd never do that or anything to put you in danger."

"Sure, not on purpose! But you have super strength and a vibranium arm! What if I veer a little by mistake and you grab the wheel to correct me but accidentally pull it off??"

Bucky opens his mouth, closes it. Pauses. Looks over at John. "Shit, he might have a point."

John's eyes go wide. "Why are you looking at me?? I also have super strength!"

And that was how his son learned to drive solely thanks to Olivia.

John probably had a very hard time adjusting to life after taking the super soldier serum, especially with how bad his mental health was. I can’t imagine it was good for his marriage.

He dissociates during dinner and only comes back once he’s snapped his fork in half to see Olivia watching with concern.

Him and Olivia are arguing and he’s suddenly broken the door frame he was holding onto, and she’s looking at him like she’s scared of him.

He has a panic attack and he’s holding on to Olivia’s hand when he suddenly hears her cry out and he hates himself for it. A trip to the emergency room reveals a couple broken bones.

One of the staff recognises him and pulls her aside to ask if she’s being abused. John hears this due to his enhanced senses. He hates himself even more, especially when Olivia insists she isn’t and is still given resources to help her.

Those same senses probably make it hard to function, at least initially. Getting to sleep as a traumatised war vet isn’t easy, but it’s only made harder when you can hear every little sound made anywhere near you.

The enhanced metabolism is also a pain. Trying to provide for someone who is now eating multiple times as much as a normal person is probably extremely difficult. Maybe John loses a lot of weight in those first few months because he simply isn’t used to having to eat that much.
