Ryland and Court think Colt is still just a stuntman, they know he had an injury and stuff, but he went quiet for a while so they have no idea what happened. They just know that one day he just showed up to family dinner with Jody like "we're back together again!" and that was it.

Ryland and Colt think Court just has some random government job, they joke about him being some sort of secret agent, but Court isn't gonna tell them anything and they never think too hard about it.

Colt and Court think Ryland is still a middle school teacher, and just got dragged off with some science friends for something.

They have some sort of annual family dinner during the astrophage crisis (Grace managed to beg a small reprieve to go visit his family from Stratt), and Colt and Court are just looking at their brother- who's looking a little more bedraggled than usual (he's been on the Vat for weeks by now)- and are just like "so... How's everything going?"

Ryland is panicking because he doesn't actually know how top-secret the whole 'Project Hail Mary' thing is, so he doesn't think he can actually tell them anything. Just stuttering out some sort of half baked lie.

His brothers get worried.

Court might try and use his connections to find out wtf is going on.

also second to last one is the first gracerocky i ever drew! from like a month ago! woah!

as compared to the most recent gracerocky, now in color! woah! can you tell i actually looked up a reference for rocky for this one o.o

fit check! i was sick of having to look up references for what clothes grace has on the mary/erid so i compiled them as best i could.

some notes: 1) i couldn't find a white long sleeve that looked the same, but it's such a simple thing i didn't feel it was that important. 2) there's a logo on his shorts but i couldn't figure out what it was, i'd guess a nasa one. 3a) i couldn't find the same bucket hat, but there's the logo. 3b) i couldn't find that tie dye shirt to save my life. 4) the jumpsuits are exactly the same except color and i could only find the full ref for white. 5) couldn't find either ilyukhina's dress or his track suit. again, the track suit is easy so no ref needed.

obviously this is just what we can be 100% certain he has, who knows what else yao and ilyukhina had packed. honestly, i would also assume he has everything he had while on the stratt vat and in baikonur since they probably just loaded all his belongings when he was shipped off.
