New casting announcements for Heated Rivalry season 2 (via cravecanada)
Lesbian yearning but instead of for a girlfriend, it’s for the PWHL schedule
The way Troy talks about himself you truly would think he’s killed people
like come on man not even Scott Hunter hates himself this much
just gave birth and it was to gay pornstar hudson williams
find it on ao3
And i dont think shane gave clear consent in the phone call blowjob either i think he said no
It is way weirder to imply his body language + erection gives ilya consent than it is to say they were engaging in consent play :)
ursula k le guin affirmations for your day:
it is our differences which make us dearer to one another
it is never too late to start loving
the enemy is not the foreigner, but the ones who tell you to hate the foreigner
everyone should have food, shelter, and work
everything is a yin and yang metaphor if you try hard enough
sci-fi is important
lives don't need to have a "purpose"; what matters is that we're a part of things
freedom necessitates taking responsibility for your words & actions
it's better to have come to nothing than to have gone wrong
there's no right answer to the wrong question
you shape your own personhood step by step throughout your life
there is no such thing as "deserving" or "earning" human rights
any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings
fantasy is also important
anon who asked about tennis club RPF i accidentally deleted your ask but please enjoy this exchange that @zoozoocala and i had recently:
What does gordy's dad think of his friendship with Rozanov? Surely he's very pleased his son is friends with the record breaking superstar future captain of the team, right?
Gordy is terrified to introduce Ilya to his dad because he knows Ilya hates his dad and is gonna pretend he has no idea who he is and be like "Oh back in '97? I was six years old in Russia then, did not keep up with NHL except maybe really big stars," and then his dad will probably experience the world's first actually lethal ego death.
The Tennis Club - Chapter 13: Spyrou
Hollanov, Shane/Others, Ilya/Others, Scott Hunter/Many, Ryan Price/Many | Explicit | secret gay hockey player network AU, feat. my army of hockey OCs
Chapter preview:
Henry McGee lay limp on a hospital bed, the mattress elevated, covered in a blanket to the neck, bruises peeking over the top of it. His face had taken a beating, too, probably from falling: both his cheekbones purple, the whole left side of his face swollen in various gruesome shades. It had been five years since they last saw each other in person, but Greg didn't need to remark on how Micky had grown since then. He'd been watching.
When the door shut behind him, his eyes blinked open, more alert than he'd feared, though he looked around the room, confused. His voice wheezed, short of breath, when he asked, "The fuck are you doing here?"
"I called," Greg told him. "You too good to answer your phone?"
"Been busy. My, uh, my chest kind of exploded. Dunno if you heard." Struggling to get his words out and still a jackass. Some things never changed.
"You scared the shit out of me, watching you go down like that." He'd watched the game with his daughter, Hannah. Had one hell of a time explaining away his catastrophic reaction.
Micky shifted a hand out from under the blankets, reached for him.
Greg went. Took his hand.
Tears brimmed in Micky's eyes as he stared up, a miserable sort of loneliness that Greg remembered well from their brief, too-intense year together. He'd hoped he would outgrow it.
Swiping a thumb gently under one of his eyes, Greg murmured, "You're alright. I can stick around, if you want. I got nothing but time for you, baby."
For a moment, Micky looked like he would really cry, but then a woman's voice in the hallway drew his attention away. He sniffed, muttered, "Fuck," and let go of his hand to wipe his own face. "Okay. Play along," he instructed.
The door opened a moment later, an older red-headed woman with a full face of makeup and a skirt-blouse combo that struck him as too dressy for a hospital. She had a cell phone in hand, mouth open as if about to speak, but she stopped short when she saw Greg. "Oh," she said. She put the phone away. "Hello."
"Greg," Micky said, as if it wasn't the first time he'd ever called him by his first name, "this is my mom, Cathy. Mom, this is Greg." And then, without missing a beat, he took Greg's hand again and added, "My boyfriend."
Greg kept his face carefully neutral. Playing along. What the fuck.

shane and jj rating the racist shit they hear on the ice. 6/10 okay that genuinely pissed me off. 1/10 yelling a slur takes no creativity no effort no pizzazz. booooo boring!!! 8/10 i broke a finger on your face for that one so i guess i have to give you points but also points off for being fucking evil. 4/10 okay i had to go to wikipedia for this one man, i actually didnt know that was a slur that existed??? damn
comeau says something really stupid and really White™ at post-game drinks or whatever and jj makes direct eye contact with shane, then pulls out his phone and sends him this image (he edited it himself. he's been waiting for this moment)
and shane has to hold in laughter so hard that he actually has to excuse himself and leave the room for a minute. jj is SO proud of himself.
Someone asked for an explanation of Micky’s accident in chapter 12 of @luulapants the tennis club
And I do I love explaining things

I’m Clive, and you’ve just been slimed
i had a dream last night that hayden discourse really ramped up bc hayden dislikers suddenly and inexplicably started calling him Clive Slime and hayden enjoyers kept losing their minds over this and saying he doesn’t want to be called Clive Slime and comparing it to refusing to use someone’s correct pronouns
so the entire website was either excruciating discourse or shitposts like ‘remember when Clive Slime was like “hi i’m Clive Slime”’ and ngl lads it wasn’t ideal
I feel like there’s also a racialized element haunting the conversation around shaving that I haven’t yet seen anyone really address (at least on my dash, I’m sure people ARE talking about it in general because I cannot possibly be the first person this thought has occurred to). there’s like the very basic point that if you are someone who grows thicker, courser body hair then you will be more prone to painful ingrowns and shaving regularly will absolutely exacerbate this, it was a thing I dealt with for years when I was still shaving my body hair and having stopped doing that has been tremendously helpful for my bodily wellbeing. but also overall I do think racialized people (obviously especially racialized women) can be more heavily targeted by the pressure to shave. not even necessarily because of the claim that we are “naturally hairier” or whatever because that’s really not universally true and I don’t think it’s super helpful to parrot that. but in my experience our body hair, largely regardless of its appearance or quantity, is frequently treated as more unsightly and less acceptable than that of our white peers for any number of reasons. and I do think that should be part of the conversation around abolishing a culture of shaving. it was something that impacted my life from a very young age in a way that was markedly different from and often actively enforced by my white friends and classmates.
