OMG BABY QIFREY WAS RHUBARB!
THINK ABOUT IT! They placed him in a box with no memories but suffering and if he found relief in death, he would immediately be a sprouting tree!!!!!
Just like when you can force rhubarb to grow!!
This is true of the manga, but I love how the anime accentuates the absolute physical trust the apprentices have with Qifrey. Specifically with Agott, the way she is so ready when Qifrey says “hang on tight, I need my hands free” to cling to him a mile into the sky, and then in the latest episode, how, as soon as she impacts Qifrey while flying to him, she makes no move to save herself, she just curls into him and trusts that he will keep them from falling.
And I think it works as a signal to the audience, to subtly go “hey, I know we don’t trust Qifrey right now, he’s being shady, but we can always trust him to protect the physical wellbeing of his kids. Remember that.” Idk man maybe I’m getting too attached to a teeny detail but aaaaaaghhhh that’s her dad.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ABOUT QIFTREE!
As someone who has done a lot of theories and all that I couldn’t help but want to share my thoughts on just WHAT information would have been gathered by how Qifrey was found as a kid. Like literally if you have the basic knowledge of how the Silverwood works, but not much on how humans affect it I’ve thought of these questions that could have been answered for the brimhats depending on what happened:
1. If a being only knows suffering before dying, can the seed sprout as they die?
A. If so, is it the physical feeling of dying that can also bring relief and safety?
B. If not, does that plant itself just die then, or can the silverwood still grown from the corpse?
2. If the being is found, can a human who has only known suffering and no safety eventually learn to become safe enough that can sprout the silverwood? (This was answered obviously 👀).
- from this you now get variables and questions such as how long do they live, if the tree grows what’s the quality of it, did time effect it, etc?
NOT ONLY THAT, but after seeing what triggers both Custa and Qifrey, my neuro fascination goes: what is the exact feeling/chemical that trigger the feeling for safety? Like how much of a relief triggers it since Qifrey is now starting to sprout as soon as he starts being honest with Coco. OR OR
3. Does the amount of anxiety effect how much of a relief threshold is needed to trigger the growth? Like Qifrey took a hot minute as a kid to start sprouting, but then the deal with Olly works, but at the same time, he also then starts sprouting by being honest. How is he sleeping?
A. Is it primarily effected then by the greatest stressor? Animal feel safe to sleep after being injured = safe enough to sprout because it is no longer in danger. So is it once the most prominent danger is gone??????
Especially with how complex humans think through and process shit because as someone who has studied brain chemistry and sensory systems, there are a shit ton of variables alone.
Bonus: Did Qifrey have an additional internal sensation for this due to the memory wipe, thus why we can see the small trigger affect him that start to make him feel safe but then he’s like “nope” compare to like Custa’s internal feelings for it? Or, again, how they feel it is different, different sensory thresholds or, again, Qifrey has the MANY prior exposures to recognize the feeling of it growing.
- Plus!!! With how relentless Olly is for caring for this man (orufrey is beautifully tragic. Like I just can’t sometimes 😭), just what type of threshold had Qifrey developed! Has it actually lowered considering he starts sprouting by talking with Coco? Or is the secrets just his most perceived immediate danger??????
Seriously I have so many thoughts of this subject alone I NEEDED someone to read this even if it’s one person.
PLEASE feed my mental earworms by sharing your own thoughts.

Catching up on season 2 of Arcane and I’ve completely decided that Jayce, Mel, and Viktor were def in some type of poly relationship.
Mel is like “he’ll come back to us.” And is holding that cane and at the very LEAST knows that it is not just friendship keeping Jayce in that lab. Either all three had relations, or Mel and Viktor respected/cared for each other and shared Jayce.
And I one hundred percent believe Jayce was torn between the two, and when he started dating Mel she looked him in the eye and was like “dude I know you like Viktor too don’t try to lie about it” because let’s be clear this man (and Viktor let’s be honest) are not subtle.
And then after Mel is attacked again it’s like:
Mel: Jayce and Viktor say no hextec so I’ll make sure it’s not used. I’ll help Jayce keep that promise.
Jayce: We can’t use hextech, I promised Viktor….(Mel almost dies again while Viktor is literally in a hexcore box thing) I’m sorry Viktor but I gotta protect and keep you guys alive. I’ll apologize later.
Image Percy actually let Nico take the first prophecy but not because he just didn’t want it but because they were like “wait maybe we can buy like a few more years of prep.”
Like for some odd reason Kronos regeneration just slows the fuck down and everyone is like “huh?”
Meanwhile, Percy is over there pretending to just not be around somehow and gaslighting the shit out of everyone because obviously he’s going to hit 16 before Nico and in order for Nico to hit 16 first he’s gotta be taken out for a bit (but not dead)
Maybe he vibes in the lotus Casino and there’s a plan to go grab him in 1 or two years when they have a solid plan. Nico doesn’t even need to hit 16. He’s literally 10 at the time and they could go grab Percy in like 2 years and suddenly be like “psyche! I’m actually taking this prophecy!”
You think Nico is always so exhausted after shadow travel unlike other half bloods (looking particularly at the other big three kids) because he’s quite literally changing up mater?
Like think about it.
To shadowtravel Nico turns himself and anyone or thing he is with basically immaterial. So while Percy might just get tired after using a lot of his powers he’s not actually changing up his physical composition. The closest he might get is when he heals and how he is tired after that because he basically sped up the physical healing process for himself.
But Nico is literally turning into shadows, and going off of Hades powers, it’s Hade’s helm of darkness that helps hades basically pull this off seamlessly. Like he might do it without the helm but the helm helps him be untraceable and becomes a literal ghost. Meanwhile Nico is doing this without the helm and usually with other people.
Along with the fact that he can cross an insane amount of distance in that time. That has to take extra energy itself especially because (using helm rules) he is probably not actually physical in that time, basically a ghost as he passes through any physical barriers using the shadows (assuming there are any at all in the shadows).
And then, when he leaves, he has to make sure himself and other are physical again so those materials shift again. And we see that too much shadow travel makes him actually struggle to leave the shadows because he just doesn’t have the energy to switch back. When he does, it’s probably unconscious thought to just become physical again but in reality it takes just as much effort as it does to become shadow.
(Or maybe I’m over thinking it and it’s just because this boy doesn’t eat or sleep properly. Or maybe it’s both??? Or maybe it functions like a chronic disease. Others have normal function powers where Nico has the POTS version of them)
I just think it’s interesting because he can use his other powers without immediately passing out. Like too much still can hit him hard (though I’m convinced the reason he got so tired telling the skeleton to ignore him and Percy escaping is because he had to use enough power to override HADES’ instructions of, probably, not to let Percy escape. I doubt that only took a little bit of power to do) but dude will just conk out with shadow travel.
Whatever these are just thoughts. People have probably already explored this.
Only because it’s on my mind because I saw that Spice and Wolf was getting a reboot…
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles needs an anime reboot!
I would love to see those darker arks and character development animated as more than OVAs. I want to see the battles and the found family bonds form!!!!
If anyone agrees we need to figure out how to push for this because if spice and wolf can get a reboot I feel like Tsubasa can too!
I don’t know about anyone else but:
If you really look at SKK and SSKK, the people who line up in terms of the dark and light side isn’t so much their job position but like…what they started out as.
Sure, you could look at it as one detective/light and one mafia/black but SKK was started when both dazai and chuuya were in the mafia.
Really looking at how they care, to me Atsushi is taking up Chuuya’s role and Akutagawa is taking up Dazai’s in the pair.
Like for one, chuuya and atsushi very much are the half that cares about life. We see it in the way chuuya wants to spare his men and atsushi is pretty self explanatory. They also tend to be the up close, ultimate offense in the pair, running up to deal damage and take damage.
On the flip side, Akutagawa and Dazai (at the time SKK was founded) don’t really care about others lives. They do their job for one reason or the lack of one. They also tend to be the far away, ultimate defense as Rashomon (while can definitely be offensive but to a more effective degree than dazai in regards to ability (because dazai with a gun is probably more dangerous let’s be honest)) usually helps form armor or bolsters the attack the offense is making.
Obviously is not perfect one on one especially since dazai went to the agency, but if you look more at attitude and role in the SKK then that’s what I usually see.
Let me also bring up that both atsushi and chuuya have “uncontrollable” aspects of their abilities as another parallel. Dazai and Akutagawa both have a better understanding of how to apply their abilities. That’s not to say chuuya doesn’t know, he definitely has a fundamental, deep and impressive grasp of his gravity manipulation but going off of just the roles of SKK and what each part of the pair demonstrates especially comparing start SKK to start sskk, is more what I’m getting at.
Though with dazai switching to care more about lives and sort of adding that mafia/detective component to the SKK pair, I wonder if a similar change will be reflected in the younger sskk as well. Will one of them have a sudden change of heart? Or add another layer to the SKK representation? Who knows…..
So, now that season 2 has revealed some things, let’s look at LG’s rules for CXS again.
Rule 1: only be in the past for 12 hours/there is only a 12 hr window. I still think this has to do with the fact LG can only (to our knowledge) see up to 12 hrs after a photo was taken. He wants to protect CXS. If CXS can be in a photo longer than 12 hrs (which I think is the case) then he can’t predict anything that will happen or protect CXS. If CXS can’t, then it may just be in place because they can’t put things off because they have a limited time.
But I lean towards protection because of the other two rules.
2. Listen to what LG says and don’t change anything. At first, it makes sense since LG can already see how things play out. Divert from that and things change. HOWEVER! We now know LG has traveled back in time. This rule may be in place because if CXS risks changing anything, then that will most likely ruin everything LG is in the process of doing. And what happens if you change the past while already being in the past? I don’t think it would be good.
And again, it comes down to protections. If CXS follows the directions, LG can keep him safe and work towards whatever plan he has to keep CXS from dying. If the past changes even more, then he may risk something worse or maybe never meeting CXS to prevent anything from happening to him.
3. Let the past stay the past/the past is the past, let it be. Now, LG has obviously broken this. At first it’s like “ok yeah don’t want to risk ruining the timeline and current future” but after s2 you realize what I mentioned previously. If CXS changes the past, then that could ruin any plan LG currently is working towards in a million different ways. Hell, it may even just break the world because you’d be changing the past while someone is already working to change the past. LG can’t let CXS change anything because what if it just adds another unintended blockage to his plans to save CXS? What if it just kills him outright or they never meet?
And what would happen to LG who is already in the past?
Random thought but:
I wonder if Sanji flipped the side of his hair because he either felt more confident or because he wanted to look more mature. Or he did it because of zoro losing that eye himself.
But seriously.
I couldn’t help but notice that because of the swirl being on the nose side of his eyebrow, he almost looks always serious or angry. Gives a more adult look then it being on the outside. And maybe that’s why he did it.
Or maybe he didn’t want to necessarily hide the swirl anymore. Because when his left eye was hidden, you obviously couldn’t see the inner swirl but I can’t help but think there was always a chance for his outer swirl to get covered by possible loose strands or get missed because it’s further out from the eye. You have to scan the whole face to notice it, while the inner swirl is just right there if you look sanji right in the face.
Maybe the lovely ladies on Kamabakka helped with that confidence in his features. Or the change in his hair style was because of how they dressed him up.
Or maybe he remembered how his moms hair was?
I don’t know these just be some more random thoughts.
Now that I’ve gotten into One Piece, I’ve decided that Zoro is like a freaking blood hunter class from dnd. The more he bleeds, the better he fights.
Ok so the last episode of Link Click destroyed me…
BUT!
Do you think the reason Lu Guang can go in the past at the end is because he was holding Cheng Xiaoshi as he died. We saw Qiao Ling suddenly get Li Tianxi’s memories as she died. Now this could be something special to her, but what if it implies that for like a minimal amount of time you can utilize the ability of the person who died in your arms as long as there was a transfer of body fluid or something (ie tears, blood).
Because what if QL saw LTX’s memories because she was technically seeing the things happening around her, which is what LTX could do. And she saw all of it because she obviously wouldn’t have control. Or it’s like a slightly overpowered version that works 1 time.
Because LG said he would take this 1 chance. This might imply that, because he can see in the future, he was like studying a photo or something intently after CXS gets shot like looking for where he messed up because I feel he would do that to like torture himself. But in those moments, he saw himself suddenly able to go in the photo and took the chance.
And maybe he can’t leave because it is a 1 time thing and either (speculating on CXS’s powers here) after 12 hrs he got stuck or he simply can’t use it anymore now that he used it once.
Having worked with CXS he would know how to use those abilities verses QL who has never done so which is why it flooded her system.
And maybe when he looked at a photo in the past, he saw CXS’s death, tried to prevent it, failed, saw him use CXS’s powers and was like “opportunity to save him!” And took it.
Like this can be so many things omg.
Or maybe he has done it multiple times, but like he can only use XCS’s abilities at that time, will only use it when shit like that happens, or maybe he just either can’t use it because maybe a limitation is you can’t go into a photo when you’re in another photo, or he doesn’t want to give anything away.
I mean, the first part makes sense. That once CXS is in a photo, he can’t enter a photo in the past otherwise he probably would have done that at some point.
I don’t know and I’m excited. Like there are so many things and I need people to scream about it with me. Does QL have powers now, does she now, who is that Liu guy and what can he do. And most importantly, what is going on LG! We need answers!!
And then there’s just the precious CXS sitting oblivious in the corner like the sweet cinnamon roll he is.
(I’ll probably ramble more about this because OMG! That ending was wild!!!!)
(Not my photo. Credit goes to the owner of it. I’m just using it to help my point)
Ok so I’m late to the one piece fandom but please tell me other people noticed that after the time skip the eye sanji keeps uncovered is essentially the eye zoro now has a blind spot in? Like, did that man flip it because of his scar?
(Tho he’d deny it. He’s like “I just don’t want to match him or whatever”. It’s fine, we all know you care about each other.)
Like it’s literally like “I’ll cover you, and I’ll trust you to cover me”
OMG!
I just realized that of course Vash doesn’t produce anything!! He is basically the cord that connects energy to where it needs to go!! He’s like the doorframe between one room and the next!
(Now given, those roots are definitely some form of production but that only happened when he actually tapped into the higher plan with his full abilities. Outside of that, this man is like an extension cord.)
He carries the energy of either the higher dimension or what he eats (because I’m still convinced that’s why he eats more) to where it is needed, or he connects his sisters back to the higher dimension. And then, because he doesn’t really produce just transfers, that’s why he can end up shooting that large amount of energy because there is no where for it to go except out!
And then in reverse, like all good doors, he can take energy back into which explains the literal black hole this man had opened up.
And maybe the roots/flowers/feathers come out when he has more power then he can handle on his own and basically help with dispersing it or helping it travel. Plus, he’s need to be more plant then human to handle that amount of energy so….
(Or maybe the roots are something else????)
Do you think Vash passed out on the sandsteamer because he 1) hasn’t done the plant thing in a while, and 2) it was more energy then he was able to handle?
Cause we see him do it repeated in the past, giving energy to plants and, to our knowledge, not immediately passing out. But we also can see the way his hair darkens over time showing the use of his own energy.
When he’s on the sandsteamer, not only is his hair notably darker, but he has a ton of wounds and scars. And we see him heal a bullet wound in seconds so either he wanted all those wounds (which is possible because he holds a lot of guilt) or because of all the healing of plants he did, his body can’t really heal large wounds as well, which then uses up his own energy furthering any darkening of his hair.
Plus, on the sandsteamer, I think he reversed the energy. Like her tank was blue and it seem he helped the plant pull energy away from the steamer. And that had to go somewhere, probably into himself but his body didn’t know how to handle it. Pulling the energy in would give him a few options: put it back in the higher dimension like the literal gate he is, use it possibly forming stuff like his roots, or have it just be a ball inside him.
And since he doesn’t really know how to use his gate (I still think a lot of the energy he gave plants was partially through the higher dimensions partially his own which is why he needed to eat when Nai. And he probably only reversed the energy on like a whim like “if I can give I can probably pull it back to) he probably stored it in him and it just burned inside him with no outlet.
Maybe it tried to heal him but ran into the metal plates so it couldn’t be used there. Maybe it would have released as roots but vash didn’t really know how to do that and there was not muscle memory to make use of, or maybe the energy would have turned into the freaking black hole/energy beam but Vash would not have allowed that soo
It was burning him up from the inside. So the more human brain passed out due to the energy and the overwhelming information and (most likely) heat.
That was my ramble. I just needed it out of my head 😂.
I think Cheng Xiaoshi can be in a photo longer than 12 hrs, he just shouldn’t and Lu Guang doesn’t want him to.
In Link Click there is a rule that Cheng Xiaoshi can only be in the photo for 12 hrs. However, it’s not because he has a limit of 12 hrs. It’s because Lu Guang can only see up to 12 hrs after the photo is taken.
Because, if his powers ended after 12 hrs like Lu Guang’s why would it need to be a rule?
It’s because LG doesn’t know what happens past that. Meaning two things: 1) CXS staying longer could mess up the past because he doesn’t have a proper guide and 2) LG can’t make sure CXS is safe if he stays in longer.
In other words: Lu Guang can’t see anything past 12 hrs meaning he can’t guide Cheng Xiaoshi and most importantly, he can’t protect him.
