Unfortunately even in my ficticial scenarios Caine can't helpt but fumble so hard. My vision is that he progressively starts being less of a clumsy dummy (which he is mostly because he gets nervous and doesn't understand his own feelings and emotions that well).

In this case he probably just listened to random advice like "oh you should give her flowers that's so romantic!!!!" and tried his best 🥀
