And again, the government of Venezuela is proving this is not other thing than dictatorship.

Today the president, Maduro, ordered the cable providers of our country to take CNN in Spanish off air. This is particularly tragic because CNN was pretty much one of the last channels to expose this government —and actually care about venezuela—, since it’s an international channel and the national ones are mostly silenced.

Apparently it was taken down for running some “fake” news about the vice-president, Tarek el Aissami, exposing him as a drug trafficker —which we all know it’s true.

I can’t say I’m surprised, CNN made clear it’s position against this government, it was only a matter of time.

Today has certainly been a disaster for Venezuela. 

For more evidence on this dictatorship? Elections in general have been cancelled. There were some relatively simple ones about to happen in the Central University of Venezuela, and they were called off today by the “Supreme” Court because four people decided that they wanted to put an end to the whole process.

A lot of people equate democracy to elections, although it’s certainly a much more complicated concept than that. Nevertheless, if democracy means elections, isn’t it plainly obvious that what Venezuela is living right now is NOT a democracy?

At this point, saying it’s anything other than a dictatorship is an insult to every last Venezuelan suffering through this oppressive regime.
