Hi there! Thanks for checking out my blog. All my posts will have Nimistudyblr in the tags. :-)
An update about this blog.
This blog will be promoted from a studyblr to a techblr cause your girl here got a job.
For now, all I'm doing is working on my final year project. And learning the most fuck ass language on the planet, Java (I am sorry but I hate it).
This is the very first post of 2026, and since the last time I posted I,
-sat for my first interview and effed it so bad
- then got selected in the said interview
-enjoyed a month of pure bliss then got hit with reality that I need to start with my project
-witnessed another war (the state of the world we live in)
-worked on machine learning for the first time
-learnt alot about cybersecurity
-maintained my 287 days coding streak
29th Sept 2025
The last time I posted, it was April. Since then I,
-passed my finals with the best grades since the first semester
-witnessed an actual war
-deployed my projects
-coded every day for the past 94 days
-got rejected in almost every interview cycle I sat for
Tbh, having a studyblr is one of the most motivating things I ever did. I felt like I wasn't making any progress and just a 2 minutes scroll through this blog made me realize how far I've come. In the words of the Cranberries, all my life, has been changing every day, every possible way.
It is a surreal moment for me, now that I'm in my final year, and I'm probably taking the last mid semesters of my life. So, for the sake of memories, I'll be more active here from now on :).
I took my IP midsem today, went okay ish?
20th April, 2025
Is this the first post of 2025? Yes, yes it is. Happy new year! It's embarrassing honestly but I am back. Last year was full of ups and downs and then some more downs and some more, but we are so back, we are so freaking back (honestly? Hopefully? Please, I hope so?)
A quick summary of the semester so far, I spent the whole time not focusing on academics but mostly on projects and stuff (not going great). In a few months I will be sitting for my interviews and I have stopped living calmly. This too shall pass, I know. There are no monsters this time (still hate you automata), all the subjects are relatively easy (or maybe I have a thick skin now, who knows?).
Y’know, it’s getting real tiring seeing all the study aesthetic accounts post the same things over and over. Overpriced planners, fancy equipment, delicate literature, cliché quotes, diluted palettes.
Show me the broke students. Show me the ones whose stress isn’t conventionally attractive. Show me the dollar tree notebooks and 10+ year old technology that can barely run the bare essentials. Show me the beat up books with cheap post-its and neon yellow highlighter. Show me the cramped closet or kitchen table you use. Show me the unfiltered pictures from that old phone you’ve never upgraded.
Show me what academia really is. Put the color in the picture, the vibrancy of personal drive when everyone around you fits in a monochrome pinterest board.
I’ll give my own example.
I’m disabled and currently unemployed so getting a degree is not quite the picture yet. I have a passion for theology, so over the years I’ve collected all my media from places like goodwill or garage sales. I communicate on discord, not zoom or linkedin. I mend my decade-old clothes when years of laundering thins and tears the fabric.
This is my study spot. In a place with roommates where the attention has to be shared, I’ve made my room my safe corner, where I can hide away from the stress of small-talk and pour my heart into my love of knowledge.
I cook my cheap meals and I clean my living space and I have trouble sleeping over the whys in life, looking out the window at the brown November street corner. Takeout is a luxury, friends are few but fond, and my notes would get more comments than likes on social media.
I know you’re out there. Let’s be friends!
I understand that it's very exhausting to see images of "perfect students" every day, when that isn't the reality for a lot of people! The last thing we want, is to turn studying into a classist image, in which your experience is only valuable when you have the perfect desk setup and stationary and come from wealth. I can't go to coffee shops on a weekly basis, that shit is expensive lol.
What I like about Tumblr in comparison to other Social Media, is that a lot of people do tend to share their real experiences on here. It's a welcoming community, where it feels more like sharing your study diary than a perfectly curated instagram feed.
But I also don't think it's bad to have a nice image here and there. I try to keep it level, but sometimes you just want to post that flower field or a pretty library or your stack of favourite books as that little reminder that studying isn't just suffering. It's nice to have something that stops you in your tracks now and then and it doesn't have to come at a high cost. My favourite bloggers on here usually share a lot of nature or architecture images, which I love, because I get to see a glimpse into their world!

👏 SAY 👏 IT 👏 LOUDER 👏
Someone, end this suffering, please.

Automata was moderately kind to me. Good thing it's done, I could NOT take it anymore.
Atleast the worst subjects of this semester are done (design and analysis of algorithm says I spoke to soon).
I think the folks who support the use of AI in education are missing the point of essay assignments.
Like you are not trying to educate the teacher. You are not trying to demonstrate your ability to produce an essay.
The ENTIRE POINT of Essays is to demonstrate that you understand the material. And you cannot do that if you are not writing the essay yourself.
As a teacher, I would also say, the entire point of the essay is to prove you know how to craft an argument. You can find data, confirm that data is correct, and organize it in a way to show that you know you understand the data you found. If it's really good: you've proven you can be convincing.
These skills help you discuss, debate, and understand things (both facts AND misinformation) far more.
They help you become familiar with crafting an argument, practicing the physical skill of writing, and using formal language that you might need when talking to someone in a position of authority in the future.
At the end of the day, I never cared if my students could remember a historical fact or figure. I cared if they understood the concepts and the practical skills that they could then use in their future careers.
AI will never help with that. Because it keeps the student from ever understanding how to understand in the first place.
Day 11
Who can turn a not so productive day into productive it's me myself and I. I didn't do much but still. I just wanted to enjoy today. Anyways I still went through some important topics. I don't know where the day went since even my screen time is less.
