My hot take is that ATLA fundamentally just does not work in an 8-episode condensed format and so watching the live action with the same expectations instead of just going in and having fun is detrimental to your experience as a viewer.

I really like the cast and I like that they're getting to do something fun with a show they enjoyed as kids. It will never touch the source material, and that's okay. The source material still exists.
