Okay but we don't talk about how comfortable Alex became in Darlington’s life. Not in the sense of how she grew accustomed to him always being there and what he’d say, but in the sense of how ingrained and comfortable she is in the casual and intimate sense, she house sits while he’s gone, and takes care of his things, she has a key to his house, she fed and looked after cosmos (with Pamela) she stole his cloths and wore his cardigan, talked to his parents, and she slept in his bed. She thought about him constantly. Like it's her routine now, if she just goes back to being “like whatever” and ignoring him I'll literally die

Nikolai and Alina definitely love couple clothes so much. like I can already see them doing that. from the same colors to the same patterns BASICALLY any matching outfits. even tacky t-shirts. Alina might be grumpy but she’s essentially an all time lover girl so yes she will definitely do it. and don’t get me started with Nikolai, the boy is already envisioning the design. and then Alina draws them.

au after stiles graduates high school. he leaves town and rarely hears from derek except on his birthday. his number changes occasionally but stiles still knows it's from derek. all the wolf says is "happy birthday" and stiles is just grateful someone remembered. sometimes scott doesn't even remember these days. stiles wishes he was a kid again, where his mother would throw him a birthday party and make him feel special. he just wants to feel special again. so these little texts from derek, however infrequent they are, mean everything to him.

the year of stiles' 21st birthday, he doesn't get a text from derek. he figures derek has finally forgotten about him, or didn't care enough anymore. it had to end sometime, stiles figures. it was good while it lasted.

a week goes by of stiles trying not to feel let down and depressed, trying to push all thoughts of derek and his high school friends from his mind. his heart jumps, though, when he's driving down the road and his phone buzzes in his pocket. it's probably just his dad. who else—

"help," the text says. stiles knows who it is immediately. it's one of the numbers he has saved for derek in his phone; he didn't know it was still active. "derek??" stiles texts back. then his phone rings immediately, and he stops everything he's doing, swerves onto the side of the road, tires screeching, as he fumbles and hurries to pick it up.

the voice on the other end is familiar, and pained, and stiles' heart is in his throat. but it's derek. he's okay, he's alive, for now, and stiles knows right then that he'll do anything in his power to bring him home safely. if only to get another birthday text from him next year. if that's all it is, if that's all it can be, it's enough. it's derek.

If sterek was in a romcom they would be the fun weird side characters who bickered and didn’t like each other and were total opposites for basically the whole movie but during the big final scene they would have some weird vulnerable eye contact while the main people had their big moment and then suddenly you see them making out sloppy style in a corner to total eclipse of the heart with waaay too much intensity and tongue and groping and you would look at them going at it and kind of laugh but also say awwww yessss they belong together

In the Shepard King Duology we got the Nightmare, and in The Knight and the Moth we got the gargoyle. And I would like to thank Rachel Gillig for continuing to give us sassy weird little guys.

"I like to jokingly say that this book is three novellas in a trench coat because it is each of their stories. I structure my books before I write them; first, I structure the book narratively, which is the order in which the reader experiences it, then I shift it to chronological order in order to write it. That means I don’t actually write the book in the order that the reader experiences — I write the book in the order that the characters experience it. I built all three women in chronological order and then found the intersections in their timelines in order to maintain clarity of voice between them. I also like to create a headline for each of my characters; the way I broke it down for Sabine, Charlotte and Alice is that Alice lives in her head, Charlotte lives in her heart and Sabine lives in her hunger. Those become the driving forces for each character in terms of how they navigate the world. Charlotte was the most internal, the most romantic, the most emotional and emotive. Alice was the most neurotic, the most anxious, the most self-aware. Sabine was the hungry, insatiable, and really self-actualized character."
