This is probably going to be a bit of a personal ramble that will get a bit sappy, but I hope a few of you out there are able to at least slightly relate.
So one of my best friends has decided to leave the terrible ol’ Tumblr life behind her, and that person is of course, @destinysengineer (plus her other blogs who’s URLs escape me). Rye is truly a wonderful person. She welcomed me to the Smash/Nintendo fandom and was one of the very first people I interacted with on my Pit blog (which is now rather inactive but that’s not the point right now hush), and so she quickly became one of my first friends within the fandom.
And honestly, what an amazing first friend she was. Even if unknowingly, she’s been there when I’ve been down, and she’s been there to throw memes and interactions at me when I felt the worst on my blogs. She’s helped me improve my writing skills, and editing/Photoshopping skills She’s even been a mod on this blog with me (and without when I left for a while).
We’ve had our shares of ups and downs, memes and... more memes. Calling each other out on the other’s BS and all that other banter-y fun stuff. She’s just all around amazing.
While I’m fairy sure I’ll continue talking to, and memeing at, her through discord, Tumblr’s just not gonna be the same without her on my dash on a (near)-daily basis. I wish her the best in her career, and, if possible, I hope to see her return one day. But if not, its fine and understandable; sometimes real life does just catch up and take priority. I know for a while, it did for me.
