My handwriting is the same style as the teacher’s who I had when I was nine. I’m now twenty one and he’s been dead eight years but my i’s still curve the same way as his.

I watched the last season of a TV show recently but I started it with my friend in high school. We haven’t spoken in four years.

I make lentil soup through the recipe my gran gave me.

I curl my hair the way my best friend showed me.

I learned to love books because my father loved them first.

How terrifying, how excruciatingly painful to acknowledge this. That I am a jigsaw puzzle of everyone I have briefly known and loved. I carry them on with me even if I don’t know it. How beautiful.

Whenever I hear about Old Woman Josie and her angels, I always think of this song. It reminds me of the darker side of Nightvale; the constant surveillance, the mistrust, and the mysterious, arcane religious practices. It fits her so well 😖.

I love all of Kiki Rockwells music, and one of my favorite songs of her's is Cup Runneth Over. For most of the time I listen to it, I swore she said "Why drink ale when God made wine" and thought it was literally the best lesbian line in all music.

Recently found out it was actually "I drink ale when God made wine", more of an ode to breaking the binary, which is cool, but I think the line I misheard is way cooler and I WILL use it somewhere.

Does anyone have any good book/podcast suggestions that have a similar cadence (writing pattern?) to Welcome to Night Vale? It's hard to describe, but one of my favorite things is how the words and phrases are put together. It gives me a very similar feeling to Wildwood by Colin Meloy, which i read in middleschool and spent ages trying to figure out how to explain what it was I liked so much about it.

I find omniscient books do this pretty well too. I think it's the matter-of-factness of the speech patterns tied with a slight peculiar setting.

For the record, I do not mean any wtnv novels or Joseph Finks work, I have already read those and they were great.
