A whole week of prompts for fanworks dedicated to celebrating Piers and Leon together!
When?
The last week of July, so from Sunday July 27th to Saturday August 1st.
How?
There are four prompts for each day that you get to choose from: a word, a quote, a trope, and a canonical moment from the RE franchise.
I’m so excited!
Good! So are we!
Link to the prompt post!
Rules and miscellaneous info under the cut!
Rules
1. All fanworks must be centered around Piers/Leon. You may include other ships and characters as much as you want, but in its core it should be about Piers and Leon, and the relationship between them.
2. All works must be inspired by at least one of the day's prompts, but how directly or vaguely is entirely up to you. You can interpret the prompts in any way you want: combine them, put a twist to them, whatever you feel like.
3. Please tag your works with appropriate warnings if applicable.
4. No harassment of any kind. Be nice! Have fun!
5. No generative AI allowed. There’s not much we can do to punish anyone if they do, but we will be frowning very hard if we find out someone stole other people’s hard work through using AI.
Other things
To have your work reblogged by the nivannedyweek blog, please tag the blog directly so we won’t miss your work. If we haven’t reblogged your work in a few days, feel free to drop us a message.
There is an AO3 collection (link here!) for the event. It’s unmoderated and open, so feel free to add your works as you post them. We would love to see your works in the collection!
You may collaborate with a friend if that’s what makes the event fun for you. Remember to credit everyone who worked on the finished product tho!
A prompt fill can be a new work done for the week specifically, or it can be a new chapter to an existing work, a sequel, a prequel, a remix, whatever your heart desires.
All types of fanworks are allowed and encouraged! For fic, there is no minimum word count requirement.
Late submissions are also allowed! Don't stress too much about deadlines. We might be slower in reblogging them, but we will!
You may create multiple works for each day if you so wish!
Thank you @fonulyn for your support during Nivannedy Week! You're the only reason I followed through with posting anything ❤️
DAY 7: lost | “I’ve been in love with you for years!” | fake dating | Edonia
"You don't have to hold my hand, I'm fine." Leon complained.
"I'm not holding your hand, I'm holding your arm to keep you from falling over. You stumbled twice just on the way to the car. I'm not letting go until falling would result in you getting a face full of something other than cement." Piers countered.
Aside from Leon's exasperated huff, the two men made the rest of the way up the cement steps to Leon's 3rd floor apartment in silence. Piers breathed in the cool night air, enjoying what he knew would be a short reprieve before Leon continued trying to get rid of him. Technically, it was already well into the a.m., sunrise mere hours away.
Piers had no intention of seeing said sunrise, exhaustion having been eating away at him since the adrenaline wore off from his earlier mission. Yesterday's mission? He didn't really care. He did wonder if Leon knew he wouldn't be doing this for just anyone. In fact, Chris was probably the only other person he would be willing to babysit after a mission because they didn't want to stay in medical like they should. Leon probably should have been in medical at least overnight to be observed after having lost as much blood as he had, but he'd practically clawed his way out.
Piers and his team ran into some serious trouble on their last mission, and Leon had shown up on the nick of time to save the day. Sadly, their knight's shining armor — which was actually just a leather jacket — didn't save him from getting deep gouges across his left arm and chest.
Piers couldn't help finding it a little funny the way the man could face a monster the size of a building without batting an eye, but couldn't handle sitting in medical for a moment longer than he absolutely necessary. Just getting him there in the first place had been a struggle. It was far more sad than it was funny, though, and Piers was determined to at least take care of him through the night.
Finally making it to the door, Leon looked at Piers expectantly. Piers donned the smuggest smile he could muster and waited patiently for Leon to unlock the door.
"Piers, I told you I'm fine!" Leon groaned, "Go home."
"Make me."
Leon snapped his head to the side, wondering if he'd heard that right.
Piers smile turned into a devilish grin as he explained, "If you are anywhere near as 'fine' as you keep saying you are, you should have no trouble breaking my grip on you. So, if you can do it, I'll leave."
While Piers turned his attention to the apartment door, he could feel Leon glaring daggers into the side of his face. They both knew that there was no way Leon would have the energy or strength to break Piers hold at the moment.
It honestly made Piers want to laugh. As grumpy and prickly as Leon was being, Piers knew that Leon still would have tried to get away if it were anyone other than himself or the handful of people the other man trusts. Even in his desperate attempts to get Piers to leave him alone, Leon was unknowingly proving the strength of their friendship.
Mumbling something under his breath, Leon begrudgingly opened the door. Piers recognized that Leon was on the defensive, though he had no idea why. He would love to know why, but for the time being he was far more concerned with getting Leon to bed safely.
The apartment looked the same as the other couple of times Piers had seen it. Small, tidy, and devoid of personality. It looked more like a safe house than a place where someone actually lived.
As expected, Leon launched more protests on the way to the bedroom. Piers ignored them entirely, finally getting Leon seated on the foot of the bed. All that was left was to get Leon changed and under the covers, then Piers could finally get to rest himself. He made quick work of removing Leon's boots, then moved to grab clean clothes from his dresser. He stopped in his tracks when he noticed the open closet. Sitting on the floor of the closet was a well worn blanket, a pillow, a handgun, a combat knife, and a flashlight.
"Have you been sleeping in there?"
There was no answer, so Piers turned around to make sure he hadn't somehow lost Leon already. Leon was still sitting on the foot of the bed, but now he was starting at the floor. His shoulders where tense in a way Piers knew wasn't from pain, and what Piers could see if his face through his curtain of hair had a light pink tint to it.
"I'm not judging," Piers said softly, "we all get nightmares. If this is how you cope this is how you cope." Piers shrugged. He continued to the dresser, retrieving clothes and working on helping Leon change into them. Piers carried on in a lighter tone, "Looks like it'd be pretty cramped for the two of us. I propose we start off in the bed, then I'll get in the closet with you if you have a nightmare. Only literally though, I came out a long time ago and I have no intention of going back in."
They last bit got a small huff of a laugh out of Leon. "Didn't even realize you weren't straight."
"I figured you knew, being gay yourself." Piers responded, a little surprised.
Startled, Leon stared at Piers. "What? I'm not-" he started, but trailed off. Brow furrowed, he turned to face forward while his mind tried to digest those words and make sense of them.
I'm not gay, I would've known. I've only ever been with women. Well, one woman back before Raccoon City. I didn't exactly have the chance to date after that, especially training under Krauser.
Leon's mind stuck on Krauser. His gruff voice, rough hands, and body covered in muscles. Which then led to Chris. He also had a deep voice and body chiseled from stone, but he had gentle eyes and a goofy smile. Then Piers, not as big as Chris, but fiery, determined, fun to quip with, and somehow has stubborn as he is. Scars that only make him look more…
Oh.
"I'm gay." Leon whispered, half way between a statement and a question.
Piers laughed, "Well it's good to know your haven't just outright been rejecting me all this time!"
"What?" Leon asked dumbly.
"I've only tried to ask you out about a hundred times! I've been in love with you for years! I thought you just weren't interested, but if you didn't even know you were gay…"
Leon needed a minute to let that sink in. A smirk crept across his face as he asked, "So what, are you going to buy me breakfast in the morning and try to seduce me?"
"Isn't is usually dinner?"
"I like breakfast more."
"Then yes. I'm going to buy you breakfast, but I'm not going to try to seduce you. I'm going to succeed. Now lay down. The sooner we go to sleep the sooner I can take you on a date."
"Yes sir!" Leon laughed.
Leon obeyed, climbing into bed and situating himself on the edge and facing the wall. Piers helped himself to some of Leon's clothes, removed his prosthetic, and climbed in the opposite side. He didn't stop there, though. He wrapped his arm around Leon's chest — careful to avoid Leon's latest injuries — and grunted as he pulled him close. A little more shifting and maneuvering, and Piers had Leon's back pressed up against his chest. He wrapped his arm back around Leon's waist, and nestled his face into the back of Leon's neck. Piers let out a content sigh, already well on way to sleep.
Surprisingly, the apprehension that normally followed Leon to bed seemed to melt away. The knot perpetually in his stomach loosened, and he felt his eyes grow heavy. He fell asleep in record time to the sound of Piers' breathing, and, for the first time in a long time, Leon slept in his bed the entire night.
Thank you to everyone who participated in nivannedyweek 2024 either by writing, drawing, commenting, or some other way! It was so much fun sharing this with all of you, and hopefully we can do it again next year! The timing is still up in the air, but we'll see what works best. (We are also open for suggestions!)
Here's the list of all the fanworks posted for the week, organized by the day they were posted for. If you do not want your work featured on the list, please shoot us a message and we'll remove it! Links take you to tumblr posts, but from there you can click over to ao3 when applicable. The untitled works mostly have the prompt as link text.
I will be adding late submissions onto the list if there are some.
Thank you again! Links under the cut!

DAY 7: lost
Untitled 2/2
They had won.
Technically.
Leon wondered when it would feel like it.
One of the soldiers had given Leon a BSAA jacket. It was too big on him, but that was fine. It had to fit Leon and all of the bandages the doctors had wound around him. He had to look pathetic in his bandages and hospital gown and too big coat.
He felt too numb to feel pathetic. His feet were cold as he limped down the hallway to where the soldier had pointed him. The soldier had looked two seconds away from offering his boots when Leon walked away.
“We thought you were dead, Sir.”
It had been a good idea at the time. The best option available. It didn’t lessen the guilt on Leon’s exhausted shoulders. He didn’t think anything could lessen it. For the first time, he had a real lead, had struck a true blow against the greedy, ruthless bastards within the US government, and Leon just wanted to collapse in a corner and not move again.
The hall seemed to stretch on forever. Leon focused on the door numbers and avoiding stepping in anyone’s path. Each step sent a flash of pain from foot to skull, but that wasn’t enough to distract him.
Room 506, the soldier told him. Leon hadn’t thought to ask his name.
Captain Redfield was awake, the soldier had told him. The soldier didn’t have any other information to give him. Just that it was bad.
Leon had asked for them to go down there. Whatever happened, it was on him.
He failed Adam. He failed Sherry. He failed Chris and Piers.
Later, Leon knew, the guilt would really kick in. Right then, the exhaustion made those last feet to 506 seem like miles. It was a little funny that the mess waiting for him back in the States seemed less stressful and less horrifying than the one simple closed door.
Leon had asked them, though. The only reason Chris and Piers had been down there was because of him.
His hand didn’t shake when Leon opened the door. His hand felt numb, too.
There were only two people in the room, which surprised Leon a little. He had expected Chris to be swarmed upon his return. Instead, there was one person sleeping in a chair and one person sleeping on the bed.
Just inside the room, Leon froze. His exhausted brain stalled. He should have expected Chris to be asleep, but for some reason, he hadn’t. Now, he wasn’t quite sure what to do. They were asleep, they needed the sleep, but where was Leon supposed to go now? What was he supposed to do?
The figure on the bed cracked open an eye. Bandages hid the other. “Leon,” Piers Nivans croaked. To Leon’s amazement, Piers smiled at him. “There’s another chair, you know. Or you can take Chris’s bed.”
Leon eyed Chris, snoring away at Piers’s bedside instead of in his bed, and then limped toward the second chair.
Was he supposed to apologize? Was he supposed to ask about the ominous flatness on one side of Piers’s body? What was he supposed to do?
Piers smiled wryly at him. He looked like shit. He looked like he had just survived a war. He looked beautiful. “You should take the bed. You look dead on your feet.”
Leon scoffed. “It’s the hospital gown. It washes me out.”
Piers laughed quietly, and that was enough to win a dazed smile from Leon.
I’m sorry. Tell me what I can do to help. Tell me where we go from here?
Considering Piers was the one sprawled on a hospital bed, bandaged and probably missing a limb, he looked far livelier than Chris looked and Leon felt. There was a strange gleam in his one visible eye which reminded Leon of how he looked right before he shot a bullseye.
Leon almost asked him what he was thinking when Piers spoke up again. “Do you want to go on a date after this?”
…what? “What?” Leon asked blankly. It would have felt less shocking if Piers had shot him.
Piers’s smile grew a little nervous, but he didn’t look away. “Coffee? Dinner? Just the two of us? A date.”
That didn’t help the confusion, but as Leon smiled back, he felt a little less lost. The weight on his shoulders was still heavy but seemed a little lighter.
Only a day late! Yesterday won that round, unfortunately. But it's still @nivannedyweek!
DAY 6: Tatchi bomb
Untitled 1/2
“Haven’t you heard?”
It was hard to hear over his pulse roaring in his ears. Chris was still yelling in front of him, and Piers knew he needed to pay attention to the disaster unfolding before his eyes. Everything felt separate from him, though.
“Haven’t you heard?”
“Leon?! Leon, where are you?”
Chris was shouting and Piers couldn’t do anything. He sat there, numb and yet somehow still more aware of his body than any other time in his life.
“Chris! We’re just outside Tatchi. Why?”
“Don’t tell Chris. He can’t… and it’s Leon. He has to have a life or two left, right?”
Piers’s pulse roared in his ears, throbbed under his skin, and Piers couldn’t see the horror unfolding before him. He saw Leon and Chris laughing together at the bar before everything went to hell. Claire had bumped his shoulder with her own and grinned a Redfield grin.
“Go on. Shoot your shot. I’m telling you, you won’t regret it.”
“Get the hell outta there!”
“Piers, did… did you hear about Tall Oaks?”
Did anyone tell Claire that Leon had survived Tall Oaks?
If Piers could turn back time, he would have done so many things differently. Wasn’t that the cardinal rule in this job? Live every day as if it was your last?
Chris was still shouting.
“Don’t tell Chris.”
“Haven’t you heard?”
“Get the hell outta there!”
There was nothing but death all around them. The broken and bloody shards of their failures. All hope for the future teetered on a knife’s edge.
“Shoot your shot.”
“Leon! Leon!”
Pain and grief made Piers’s eyes burn. He let his gaze drop.
“We head out bright and early for a big mission. Next time… next time, I’ll ask him out.”
“We’re just outside Tatchi.”
“Leon! Leon, are you all right?”
Piers’s arm was a dead weight beside him. In front of him, Chris fought for his life. Piers felt every road he had never taken crumble around him, breaking under the weight of an innocuous syringe.
“Leon, are you all right?”
“Yeah…”
Piers hadn’t said a word. Not when they found out that Leon was still alive, not when Leon survived the bomb. He hadn’t said a word, had let Chris do all of the talking.
“Shoot your shot.”
Piers didn’t feel a thing when he stabbed himself with the syringe. Not at first.
For the future, Piers thought. Chris’s. The BSAA’s.
The LAST poll of Nivannedy Week 2024 is closed, and we have our first/only tie! Therefore I will cast the tiebreaking vote and say today's prompts are fake dating and "I've been in love with you for years!" Filled here and on ao3. :3
Piers couldn't breathe.
He'd come out to the balcony to gulp down some fresh air, to try and steady his frayed nerves, ripped apart by a night of hanging off Leon's arm as his plus-one for some bullshit government event where he was supposed to be finding a mole. They'd narrowed it down to a couple of candidates, but all of a sudden Piers had been gripped by dread because the night was coming to an end, and that meant -
That meant he'd be going home alone, and all the hand holding and cheek kissing would just be part of another fantasy.
"Piers?" Speaking of fantasies, there was Mr. Sex On Legs now. A warm hand landed between Piers's shoulder blades, and a second later Leon's concerned face appeared in his periphery. "Are you okay?"
"No." Piers hardly recognized his own voice, gazing back at Leon with his good eye. He knew what a wreck he was; there was no point in lying, and besides, he respected Leon too much to try that with him. "Because I've been in love with you for years, and tonight's been fucking killing me."
Leon stared for a few seconds, before the most dazzling, genuine grin broke out. "You too, huh?" He reeled Piers in as he turned in shock, meeting his mouth halfway in a sweet, tender kiss. "Thank god."

Kissing Piers felt so good Leon almost wanted to cry. Having something good after all the absolute bullshit he’d dealt with was finally the thing that broke him. He couldn’t stop the full-bodied shiver that turned into half a sob, and sadly that made Piers snap back to reality and pull back.
“You’re concussed,” Piers said, licking his reddened lips, and he didn’t quite meet Leon’s eyes as he was too busy staring at his mouth instead.
Leon leaned closer, his hands on Piers’ shoulders now for support, and this was the most courageous he had ever been as he breathed against Piers’ mouth. “Don’t care.”
“I do,” Piers said, barely audibly.

Or, Leon comes back like he promised.

(for @nivannedyweek day 7 prompts "lost" and "I've been in love with you for years!" and officially my last bit for the week! thank you to everyone who's been along for the ride💖)
Another Resident Evil x Silent Hill Crossover AU and that's it for Nivannedy Week Event !! and oh man, I feel bad and sorry for my Lethan Moots for drawing this ship for 7 days so I'm not gonna draw them for awhile... but anyways ! @nivannedyweek tysm for this very fun event !! :DD
This poll is now closed! Our winners for today (the second to last day I can't BELIEVE it) are gentle and "You may be an idiot, but you're my idiot." <333 Filled here and on ao3. :3
Warning for implied/referenced alcoholism
"I'm an idiot," Leon mumbled morosely. He was staring at the now-empty whiskey glass before him, the physical manifestation of six months of sobriety thrown out the window. "M'sorry, Piers."
"I know you are," Piers said from behind him, hands sliding over Leon's shoulders before his arms draped around him, the tenderest of kisses pressed behind his ear. "And you may be an idiot, but you're my idiot. I can't say I'm not disappointed, Leon... but I'm also amazed you only had one glass. That took a lot of self-control."
Leon tipped his head back so he could hide his face in Piers's neck, his go-to spot when the world got particularly unbearable. The texture of scarred skin against his eyelids was oddly soothing. "I... I think I wanted to see if I could do it without... I don't want you to see me like that. Ever."
"I've seen you way worse ways than drunk, babe." Piers rubbed slow, gentle circles into his chest, over his heart. "But I understand. It's okay. We'll figure it out together, yeah?"
"Yeah." Leon swallowed hard, doing his level best not to cry. "Together."

A sound caught Piers’ attention. A metallic one, out of place. Curious, he followed it, momentarily forgetting his tiredness and the constant pain. There was a piece of plywood propped up to cover a space between two buildings close together, a canopy crossing between the walls. There was no way Piers could maneuver it away otherwise, not with only one usable arm, so he tipped it over and let it clatter on the ground.
There was a wounded noise, distinctly human.
It took a second for Piers’ eyes to get used to the darkness, but then a weight fell off his shoulders.
Almost as an afterthought, he tapped his comm.. “Hunnigan,” he said, quiet, not to spook the person hunched in the corner, looking at him from huge, panicked eyes. “I found him.”
--
Or, Leon goes missing after the bomb hits Tatchi. Piers goes to find him.
