âAgreed!â Yugi smiled and jumped up to grab the blankets.Â
The prince chuckled and got up to help. âLetâs go get settled under the stars then.â
He hummed softly then helped gather up some blankets. And a bottle of wine. âThis too.â

âI donât need gifts. I just need you both~â
âWell you have us~â He smiled and the prince nodded, kissing him again. âAnd we are all yours.â
He hummed softly, âThen this is the best birthday Iâve had in a long time.â
âThat makes us both so happy,â the prince said and kissed his jaw.Â
âYou know what would make it better? Stargazing.â

âWhat does one⌠do for a birthday besides eat cake?â
âEnjoy gifts and affection from others~â And now he gets a kiss on both cheeks from both Yugiâs.
âI donât need gifts. I just need you both~â
âWhat does one... do for a birthday besides eat cake?â
game-weaverâ:
The prince tilted his head back, smiling up at him before letting out a purr. His eyes were warm, happy, content as he nuzzled into the kisses before kissing him again. âMaybe~â He teased. âMaybe it is because I know it catches your attention, mighty hunter.â He grinned and rolled onto his back, being careful of his wings and reached up to him.
âCome lay with me?â He whispered.
Atem smiled at him then dipped his head, consenting. Summerâs Prince could ask him for anything in the universe and he would have done everything to get it. Yet all he asked of him, all he had ever asked of him, was to love him. And Atem did. He loved him completely but simply. In every way that he was capable of loving him.
And so he kissed him again before laying next to him, rolling gently so Atem cradled him against his chest. âYou know you never need to ask. Just smile at me and Iâm yours~â
game-weaverâ:
The Prince grinned to himself, wings rustling like the leaves around him. He could disappear if he really wanted to. Atem might be a hunter, but the prince, he was one with the forest. A being that knew trees and the way they spoke and moved, matching their movements to his to be silent.
But he rarely wanted to be away from him, did he. Hearing that whisper made him purr softly, a happy shiver going down his spine. Continuing through the woods he found a glade, warmed by the setting son, the grass soft.
And he laid down to wait for him, chin resting in his hands, wings splayed out as he waited patiently.
Atem took his time, each step careful and slow until he weaved his way to the clearing where his love had settled. He took an extra moment to regard him, his prone form, the way his... beautiful wings fluttered at his back. It was a sight that he would cherish until it was his own time to travel to the next world. Atem stepped forward finally until Summerâs Prince was at his feet, then knelt.
He carded his fingers through summerâs hair, tilting his head slightly so he could look into his stunningly deep purple eyes.
Inside them, he found a sense of home.
âThere you are my love. Why must you enjoy running from me?â
He kisses his forehead, then his temple, then the curve of his cheek before finally kissing his lips again with a faint purr.
âIs it because you know I will always follow?â
game-weaverâ:
The prince purred into the kiss, hands sliding up his chest and up to run through his hair. The smaller pressed close, flush, and just smiled up at him. âCanât say I donât find that a success,â he grinned and nipped at his lip. âAfter all I am glad i can distract you so~â
But he stepped away, tantalizingly looking over his shoulder at him before disappearing around a tree. Taking a deep breath he took in the warm evening air, the grass and dirt between his toes, the sound of the trees whispering to one another. This was perfect, this was his home.
But he slyly stayed out of Atemâs sight. Little glimpses of his wings as he ran from tree to tree, going deeper and deeper in the woods. Another form of chase, still playful as he practically danced over the roots and logs. And then he paused behind a large tree, listening, waiting.
âMy little devil,â he laughed softly, leaned in for one more kiss. But the prince was gone. Gliding away from him again, hiding. Enticing Winterâs Prince to, once more, become a hunter. He closed his eyes and focused on the sounds of the forest instead, giving the prince time to get away and to hide. Then he turned and started off through the forest.
He made sure to take his time, make a show of tracking the slight disturbances through the forest.
He knew, however, that the prince was letting him follow so closely. Was letting him track. Atem knew from experience that if Summerâs Prince wanted to be alone, he had ways to keep it that way. Even still, Atem was usually allowed close. âMy love,â he whispered softly, wings fluttering behind him, âall I wish is to see your beautiful face.â
game-weaverâ:
The prince laughed as the other caught up and looked down at him. His heart was racing, his blood felt like it was lit up like his markings as he spun and twisted in the air. But then Atem was swooping down and he followed quickly into the forest.Â
His grin of excitement softened as he slowed, sliding himself down into his princeâs arms and letting his toes touch the soft grass.Â
But he could barely look around, he was just taking in the sight of Atem as he touched his cheek, catching his breath from flying. âA little slow,â he agreed, smiling. âPerhaps out of practice.â But then he leaned up to kiss him.
He knew exactly where Summerâs Prince would end up and so his arms had been waiting, open. Welcoming him back home with a gentle squeeze. He could never have forgotten the way the prince snuggled against him, the way they fit together. It was like coming home after a long trip. Some part of his tattered soul was soothed; a piece of him that he hadnât acknowledged.
It also made his pain so much acute.
Atem buried it down deep and smiled instead, dipping his head to kiss him eagerly, a low hum rumbling in his chest. The prince held his attention rapt. He had always managed to keep Atem wrapped around his little finger. Little devil he was... âWhat can I say? You distracted me,â he kissed him again, then once more. Savoring each kiss because he was greedy.
Throws self into box
The fae smiled and gently cupped Yugiâs face in his hands. How could he not share a kiss with the one he loved most. Slowly, he lowered his head and kissed the dream weaver, tenderly, slowly...
Just because he loved him so.
FIRST THREE IN MY INBOX GET KISSES
game-weaverâ:
And how he laughed. The city was vast and unfamiliar and it made his skin feel tight butâŚHere in the air? He was alive, spinning and twisting and doing acrobatics as he moved with the wind. This wasnât confusion, this he knew.Â
Then Atem shot past him and he grinned, taking chase. His eyes lit up, gold sparkling as he kicked up his speed. One couldnât ever really forget how to fly, and it didnât take him long to get the hang of it again. Complete with catching up and dipping under his love. Rolling he smiled and snuck a kiss to his cheek before arching back and away from him again.
Tag.
So he wanted to play then? That was more than okay.
Atem laughed and gave chase once more, zipping after him with another laugh. He hadnât fully realized how much he had missed this. How much he had longed to feel this free again. Not that he hadnât been free before but this? This was a different kind of free, one that he hadnât felt in... a very long time. He shook off the pang of sadness that crept up and dove suddenly.
He swept under the prince, looking up to smile at his love.
âThis way,â he nodded slightly, steering them back towards the forest. Towards home. Was it still home, he wondered? Would it ever feel like home again? Would... he even want to go back after this?Â
With an inward sigh, he let himself land, turning to reach for his prince. âI think,â he hummed, âIâve gotten too slow.â
game-weaverâ:
Yugi settled and smiled softly, appreciating the blanket before he curled up on his side and reached out to run his fingers through Ashâs fur. Finally he closed his eyes and gave in to sleep.Â
The prince however, took Atemâs hand and his shoulders eased as he sighed. The treesâŚThe trees sounded so perfect right now. His mind was still a little muddled, there were memories he had, some he couldnât quite explain as well as lost time. And right now? It felt like he hadnât flown in a very long time. âPlease,â he smiled and followed, his wings rustling before he took flight. He was a little wobbly at first, but then he relaxed and looked to his love before releasing his hand and arching up into the sky, spinning and smiling to himself as he just erupted into laughter.Â
Despite the confusion and pain he felt, this? This was freedom he hadnât tasted in a long time.
He stretched out his wings before floating into the air with him. He waited, making sure the prince was stable... And then he let him go. If there was one thing that Atem remembered, and would always remember, it was the sound of the princeâs laugh. It was light as bells, as sweet as sugar. And it was one of the best sounds he had ever heard. He zipped after him, weaving through the air behind him, giving chase.
Flying had always brought him clarity.
It also brought him joy.
âToo slow!â He shot past the prince, leading him back towards the trees. This city, he knew, was unfamiliar. He figured that he could at least bring them back to familiar ground. Atem dipped low and looked over his shoulder for the prince. The wind was warm against his face; all he wanted was to keep flying and playing. Like they had in the past.
game-weaverâ:
Yugi looked up at him and reached up to cup his cheek, nodding softly. He saw the honesty in those eyes, knew that the fae meant it. âOkay. I thinkâŚIâm just going to sleepâŚfor a little while.â He admitted. He was so tired. All that energy stripped from him in an instant, it felt like he ran full force into a brick wall. Besides, Atem was right, the prince was a full fae and in a world full of iron with no protection now.Â
The prince in question watched with a kind of quiet curiosity, taking in the way that Atem handled and spoke to Yugi. That protective part of himself melting a little.Â
Atem covered Yugi with a blanket, making sure he was comfortable before turning back to the prince. âLetâs go. Get you back to the trees you love.â He extended a hand with a soft smile. He knew where to go, where the best spot to hide was until he came up with some solution to the conundrum at hand.
âFly with me?â
game-weaverâ:
The fae looked him in the eyes and nodded. He trusted him. And the human who was next to him, the one who looked like him, was himâŚHow did he know him at all? Everything was so confusing, it was making his brain hurt. But they were safe and he took a breath, watching the way Atem went to the other, he was gentle wasnât he, with the human. ThatâŚFor some reason made him glad, for there was some part of him that was protective oddly enough.
Yugi blinked when Atem was there, helping him up but he sighed in gratitude as he was helped to the couch and curled up there. This was better, more comfortable. Honestly he might just fall asleep there. âWhen have our lives ever not been full of oddities?â He questioned softly, offering a little smile and nodding to the prince.
âGo. You donât have to worry about me.â He knew the struggle his love must be having in this moment. After all what would he do if he was in the same situation? Seeing someone you loved so deeply and hard for the first time in so long.
âI will always worry about you,â he promised softly. Truth. Complete and utter truth laid bare in a split second. Atem, despite his prince standing just feet from him once more, still cared deeply about Yugi. His human-ness. Him. He wouldnât just abandon him because the other was... back with some mysterious magic. Maybe it wasnât to be trusted.
That did nothing to quiet the pain of his heart.
âAsh will be here. But I need to take him to the forest. He doesnât have a bracelet to ward off the iron.â
game-weaverâ:
The prince steadied himself, hands holding onto Atemâs arms as he looked him over. Reaching out he traced the lines on his face, as if memorizing it all over again, or re familiarizing himself with it. He wasâŚ.New. Yet familiar. How he had missed him, and yetâŚHe had been here. His mind was disoriented as his eyes took in their surroundings. âWhat happened? Where are we?âÂ
Yugi sighed softly, nodding to Atem. After all, they had been violently ripped apart over a hundred years ago. Who was he to get between this? So he sat back against the couch and took stock of himself, looking at his smooth, pale skin. No longer did he have markings. No longer did he feel light on his feet or full of energyâŚHe felt heavy. Like something was now gone. His magic, drained.
He sighed softly before gently gathering the prince into his arms. âI donât know what happened. But we are...â Our home? Their home? Nothing sounded right. Because it was home. His home with his half fairy love. Did that notion of âhomeâ extend to Summerâs Prince as well? They were sort of the same person. ... Right?
Everything had gotten extremely complicated, hadnât it?
âWeâre safe.â He settled on after a brief debate with himself.
It took some convincing, but he finally let go of the prince (once he was sure he was stable) and went over to the human Yugi. Atem knew him well enough to see the exhaustion that pinched the corner of his eyes, the slight slump in his shoulders like he was carrying extra weight. Atem helped him get back on his feet, then over to the couch to sit more comfortably at least. If only to hide the slight shake in his hands because of his nerves.
This was one of the few times that he didnât know what to say. âForgive me,â he started, âthere are oddities about and yet I am the one dumbstruck.â
