Meet our main character: Franzl
Target Group/Audience
The main target group would consist of people between the age of 16 - 30 years, who are interested in history and culture in general and are looking for a fun game, that they can play in their leisure time. Of course older or younger people are not excluded. Wether the player is already quite familiar with the history of Austria or doesnât know a lot about it yet, there is something in it for everyone.Â
Market analysis
1. Are there similar games as ours on the market?
There are a lot of Jump Nâ Run games on the market (Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong Country etc.) . But most of them donât provide any learning effect and are just for fun and pastime. We want to make a unique game, that has it all - a funny story behind it, a nice gameplay and some learning effect too.
2. What makes our game unique?
Our game is like a journey through the history of Austria, where the player meets and helps important historic characters. Aside from a few quizzes, there is no other game on the market so far, that focuses on that. That makes our approach to this topic (learning about the history of Austria through a Jump Nâ Run game) quite unique.
Game concept
After a lot of brainstorming and discussing we finally worked out a concept for our game. We decided to do a 2D-Jump nâ Run game about the history of Austria.Â
So, let us introduce you to âAusgefranztâ (working title):
Emperor Franz Joseph I. of Austria got trapped in a parallel universe. In order to find a way out of it and get him back to his wife, the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the player has to complete various levels, where he meets important characters of the history of Austria. Each level covers a specific time period. In order to get some hints about his whereabouts and how Franz can get back to Sisi, the player has to do tasks for the historic characters. When Franz meets Mozart for example, he has to collect sheet music for him. The game will also include little quizzes about the time period and the characters.Â
The main goal of the game is to bring Franz back to his wife and to gain some basic knowledge about the history of Austria.

The name.
The name ânixisâ was born after some brainstorming and playing around with different words and letters. First we couldnât really decide what name would fit us best and we said âis nixâ, wich is austrian slang for thatâs nothing. We liked the sound of it and after some experimenting we came across the final name ânixisâ.
