He's worried about stepping on flowers. He loves nature. - (ref)
not using AI genuinely feels like the rest of the world is experiencing some kind of mass amnesia. if someone says they never use it, the immediate response is that can't be true because "everyone" uses it to write their emails or answer their questions. saw a comment suggesting that not using chatgpt to write an essay is "like the 90s". girl I graduated in 2021 and we weren't doing that! how is it that everyone has suddenly forgotten that they were entirely capable of doing these things all by themselves for their entire lives up until the past few years!! am I going crazy!!!

In an ancient forest, shallow pools reflect not the trees above, but a luminous city of elsewhere.

Did we all die during covid and go to hell?
Why are missionaries still a thing? Wherever they went they heralded awful things.
Finally finished reading “Enshitification” by Corey Doctorow (solid read - thanks @mostlysignssomeportents ). If you’re ever thought social platforms, apps, even your car… heck almost everything digital has gone straight to hades this book will help make sense of it.
Stuff in my group chats:
Friend 1: let’s go to Dubai!
Friend 2: Shopping!
Me: Wait… what?? Have you not seen what’s happening in the Gulf states? I can go to Warsaw for shopping. More history and better food. Also, how do you not know the UAE is using the RSF as a proxy militia in Sudan???
[paraphrasing] Friends: 😳😨 …aight. Warsaw it is.
My location went from mild winter, all winter to a few weeks of piles of snow to total early spring weather with a quickness. It’s weirding me oooout! This is not normal here.
Yay me! I’ve been a home owner for 9 years. Got suuuper lucky finding this place before real estate prices went insane. Best part is living right across the street from the sea and i can walk, bicycle or scooter to everything I need. Haven’t touched my car in two weeks. Something, something gas prices.
Looking forward to Midgarðsblot in August… if we haven’t blown ourselves up by then because three geriatric men refuse to behave like sane adults.
Finally found a place to buy soju here! Literally only one, single place here that sells it. Mixed with seltzer and a squeeze of lime with one fat ice cube is a good post-dinner + book time drink.
Started reading “A Muslim American Slave: The Life of Omar Ibn Said” by Omar Ibn Said. I was not prepared for such an incredibly deep and insightful introduction.
