The hallucigenias an extinct species all the way back in the cambrian period around 508 million years ago, theyre a detrivore meaning they usually ate off the ocean floor. theyre a pre-cursor to modern velvet worms and a relative to arthropods. they were fairly small only being around 1.5 - 5.5 cm, their body was so confusing the fossil reconstructions were so wrong the scientists flipped it upside-down. eventually, they flipped it right side up but couldnt figure out what side was the head.
