"All I need" -- Radiohead
Awakening.
((I have so many drabble ideas spinning around in my head for Imogen o_o Oh goodness. I'm going to write out all of them xD))
Something New and Something Powerful
Imogen's gift was different. A gift no member of the Volturi had ever seen before. A gift she did not want any of them to discover. Now, she walked around the city where she lived. Seattle. She feared the Volturi more then anything, despite having the power to take them down one by one. They could easily attempt to force her into their coven. Imogen's gift was the ability to control other people's actions. She could make them stand still and she could kill them... If she wanted to. The only time she did that was when her parents were killed. She got her revenge immediately.
Mostly, she feared Aro. He could see into her mind and figure out her one weakness, which was her friend, Keaton. He could use it against her. But she would try her best not to let him.
The city was freezing, as usual. Imogen walked slowly, dressed appropriately for the weather. She wore jeans, a sweater, boots, and a scarf, with her reddish-brown hair down and straight as usual. She felt peaceful. Little did she know that she would soon run into the last person she wanted to see.
Sweet & Sweeter
“Likewise, Mr. Keaton.” The vampire could already tell that Keaton was quite the charmer. He was different— And not in a bad way. “Well, aren’t you a gentleman.” She couldn’t help noticing his handsome face, and his luscious orange hair. She soon realized that she still held onto his hand, so she pulled away awkwardly. “What brings a man like you to Seattle?” She asks in a nice way, a smile still spread across her lips. “Surely you cannot have traveled here alone.”
Keaton flashed her a wide grin as he shrugged one of his shoulders, words escaping him at the moment. Truth was, he remembered nothing of his human life, so he hadn’t a clue if his personality had transformed as well as his mind and body. For all he knew, he had been a noble as a human—something that he often imagined about his past—and he did his best to carry himself as such in the present. He chuckled quietly as she jerked her hand away from his, flexing his fingers gently before stuffing the hand into one of his coat pockets.
“Curiosity,” he replied, unintentionally sounding rehearsed. “This is my first time in North America and, so far, this city is the most like home for me.” He narrowed his eyes at her and continued, “I have come here alone. I’m a loner, you could say. Is that hard to believe?”
“I assume you lived in England, then?” Imogen asked. Her parents had taught her a lot about England over the years. She always wanted to learn more about the country. She was curious about all of the countries that she didn’t live in. From what she knew, Seattle was a lot like England because of the weather. “It is hard to believe, I am a loner as well.” She chuckled. “I live a secluded life here in the Evergreen state.”
Her life was secluded even before she was turned. She did not know how to hide feelings she may have around handsome men, which was why she was acting so awkward now. She couldn’t help letting out a sigh as she thought about this. At least he wasn’t branding her an idiot. Not that she would expect him to. She was just being herself, despite the awkward and paranoid vibe she was giving off.
“Yes, London,” Keaton answered her proudly with a smile. “I’m not sure if I was born there or not, but it’s where I woke up as a vampire and it’s where I’ve been for well over a century.” He shook his drenched curls from his face then to better see her as he inquired, “Are you a nomad? Or have you maintained a residence?” He tilted his head slightly at her sigh, a wider smile tugging at his lips. Whether she knew it or not, she was incredibly endearing.
“London.” She repeated, a soft smile now on her face. “I’ve always wanted to go there. Unfortunately, I am not much of a traveler. I wish I was.” She sighed. She never got to leave her house because of the vampires she could encounter. “Ah, understandable. Do you not remember your human life?” She asked curiously. Some didn’t, which she could get. He could have simply blocked the memory out of his head. “I am a nomad with a residence, without a coven. If that is what you are asking. I live alone, I am sort of hiding out.”
Keaton frowned at her admission, shaking his head a little too quickly. “That’s shameful. We can go together, if you wish..? It’s a beautiful place that you deserve to explore.” Her question was answered by another swift shake of his head, a smile actually finding his face as he said, “No. I don’t. When I awoke, I couldn’t even remember my own name. Hm, how is it that you call yourself a nomad yet, you have a residence? You’re merely a loner…a recluse. Not a nomad, in that sense. Either way, you aren’t alone anymore. You have me now.”
“That would be wonderful, despite our barely knowing each other.” A chuckle escaped her throat. “I will accept your offer. I am desperate to go there.” She knew she could protect herself, and him, if they ran into trouble. “You remember nothing at all?” Imogen pursed her lips, thinking for a moment. “Have you ever thought of attempting to explore your old life? To figure out what it was like?” She knew she would go crazy if she could not remember her past life. Perhaps, for him, it was for the best. “A loner, yes. You have me too. We may as well be our own small coven.” The frown faded into a smile at the thought. As long as he would not betray her or use her for her gift, she would be happy being in a coven with Keaton.
“What better way to get to know someone that traveling with them?” Keaton asked amusedly. “We shall go whenever you feel up for the journey.” He shook his head then, a common gesture for him when it came to questions of his former life. “Not a thing. I’ve considered trying to find out about it but, in all honesty, I feel I’m better off not remembering or dwelling on the past. I cannot miss what I cannot remember, after all. It makes this life easier,” he candidly admitted with a shrug of indifference. At her suggestion, he let out a sigh. “You see, while I am a loner, I do have a coven. I simply prefer the experiences that the nomadic lifestyle affords me. I’d be more than happy to introduce you to Ewan and the others, if you’d like.”
"Oh, are you right. Traveling is an interestingly entertaining way to get to know someone better." Imogen grinned. At times, she could be hard to travel with, which she had yet to figure out since she had never traveled before. "I am up for the journey whenever you are, Keaton. All I have to do is pack." She replied, unaware of how difficult packing really was. She then nodded. "Pasts can be... Somewhat unbearable. Mine is complicated. I sometimes dwell on it, but I try not to." She frowned for a moment. She planned on explaining her past to him later on. "You do? I am not very much of a 'coven' person, as I have had difficulties with it. I would love to meet them, though."

Sweet & Sweeter
Seattle was rainy and windy… As usual. The weather seemed to never change. April showers brought May… showers. Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall. The weather was normally the same. Still, the American nomad named Imogen loved the city where she lived. Seattle always smelled of coffee. The city consisted of coffee shops, whether it was Tully’s, Starbucks, or just an average coffee joint. As a human, Imogen was addicted to coffee. She would drink it at least twice a day, and now, she missed it. The smell is enough to make her happy, since she knows she can never drink coffee again.
Usually, the city was very busy. On this particular day, it was not. Mainly because it wasn’t daytime, it was nighttime. No one wandered the Seattle streets at night, as it was dangerous. Crimes were often committed in the large city. That was all she ever heard about on the news. More and more crimes. Tonight, Imogen didn’t have her blue contacts in. No one was around, so why bother? If she happened to run into a human, she would stay looking down. She couldn’t risk revealing the existence of vampires to the humans.
The happy nomad girl continued walking, her reddish-brown hair blowing in the wind. Her hair only went a bit past her shoulders. All of a sudden, as the wind blew through her hair, she could smell something. Another one of her kind. A vampire. She looked around, the streets were oddly quiet. She couldn’t help being paranoid about other vampires, as most wanted her in their coven because of her extraordinary gift.
“Hello?” She called out. Her red eyes stood out due to the bright street lights.
The incessant rain in this unfamiliar city reminded Keaton of home. On this night, as he strode along the desolate streets of Seattle, he found himself very much homesick. He hadn’t been in North America for long and while it’s sights and sounds were a nice departure from what he was used to, he still longed for London.
His fingers played along the chain of his necklace, the gold-plated cross pendant beating a light rhythm against his chest with each step he took. His bright eyes—scarily scarlet from a feeding only an hour prior—flickered about, taking in the details of the buildings and vehicles that he passed. Despite the nature of what he was, he didn’t fear running into any humans, as he’d observed that most preferred to remain indoors to avoid the unfavorable weather. Even on fairer evenings, when he did find himself amongst mortals, he’d offer them a kind smile in passing and be sure to vanish before anyone could properly take notice of his appearance.
The scent found him before he could locate the source and he smiled. He cleared two blocks in seconds to round a corner and happen upon the young woman. With her back to him, he took the time to size her up before clearing his throat to further alert her of his presence. His smile broadened as he took a few steps in her direction, his hands held out in a show of innocence as he returned the, “Hello.”
Imogen turned around, so she was now facing the other vampire. She looked up at him and raised her eyebrows. He didn’t look much older than she was. He sounded British, rather than from Italy, where the Volturi were from. She decided against using her gift on him. “Are you a threat?” She asked immediately. It was not a kind greeting, but she needed to know. He didn’t seem like a threat… Not yet, anyway. She ran a hand through her now messy hair. She felt eerie, uncomfortable. She examined him, hoping that he wasn’t someone she would have to kill for any reason.
“To you?” Keaton immediately countered, then shook his head. “No more threatening than a puppy.” A soft chuckle sounded in his throat as he took yet another step closer to her. She seemed skiddish and he jumped to the assumption that she was a newborn because of this about her. “Now, forgive me for asking but, are you a threat? I mean, if you are, I have no shame in tucking tail and running for my life,” he admitted in an amused tone. He watched her for a few ticks, noting the tension she held in her shoulders and the defensiveness in her current stance, discovering the answer to his query, though giving her the chance to answer for herself.
“Good.” Imogen replied, her voice slightly stern, as she nodded. Her body relaxed a little once he informed her that he was not a threat. “I am not a threat unless you are. So no, I am not.” She laughed quietly. Just by her body language, it was easy to tell that there was a reason behind the girl’s paranoia. Her eyes showed that she had a kind soul, which she did. This would be the first vampire she actually met since her transformation. Imogen gave him a sweet smile, before sticking her hand out toward him. “My name is Imogen. And you are?”
Keaton’s eyes flickered between hers, seeing a gentleness in them that had only revealed itself once the defensiveness had ebbed. He was finally able to appreciate her beauty; the sparkle of her eyes; the round, deceptively angelic features of her fair face; the regal way in which she carried herself—a grace that he had come to realize just about all vampires (save for himself) possessed. He took her hand in a tender grip, lifting it to his lips to place a kiss against her knuckles. “It’s a pleasure, Imogen. I’m Keaton.”
“Likewise, Mr. Keaton.” The vampire could already tell that Keaton was quite the charmer. He watched her for a few ticks, noting the tension she held in her shoulders and the defensiveness in her current stance, discovering the answer to his query, though giving her the chance to answer for herself.
"Good." Imogen replied, her voice slightly stern, as she nodded. Her body relaxed a little once he informed her that he was not a threat. "I am not a threat unless you are. So no, I am not." She laughed quietly. Just by her body language, it was easy to tell that there was a reason behind the girl's paranoia. Her eyes showed that she had a kind soul, which she did. This would be the first vampire she actually met since her transformation. Imogen gave him a sweet smile, before sticking her hand out toward him. "My name is Imogen. And you are?"
He didn't look much older than she was. He sounded British, rather than from Italy, where the Volturi were from. She decided against using her gift on him. "Are you a threat?" She asked immediately. It was not a kind greeting, but she needed to know. He didn't seem like a threat... Not yet, anyway. She ran a hand through her now messy hair. She felt eerie, uncomfortable. She examined him, hoping that he wasn't someone she would have to kill for any reason.

((I've changed Imogen up a bit. Only slightly, though.
Also -- She is the Dexter of vampires. She only feeds off of criminals/killers/rapists, etc.
(But she is not a serial killer o_o Sort of.)
ANYWAY.
