“By nearly getting killed?! Yeah, real lucky,”
“Like he can understand you. You do realize their brains are dead right?”
“The KEY WORD is nearly, kid.”
“He doesn’t have to. Their EARS work. They’re drawn by noise. How quietly should I have warned you exactly?”
“Be careful Onya,” his eyes narrowed, his indignation almost tangible, “She has told you this, that she wishes to escape my tutelage?” His pride in his life’s work suffering a severe blow, “Explain yourself or I will see that she does.”
Her own eyes display no trace of emotion. She’s more VIGILANT than he’s aware. “She doesn’t have to tell me, Titus. Or you. Keep going the way you are and you’ll push her away. It’s YOU who should take care.” Her temper has carried her over the line and she knows it. Anya swallows hard but it changes nothing. There’s no calm to find. Not yet. “Have you forgotten your own lessons? You know what it takes to be commander. How they lead. Tell me she isn’t BORN for this.”
give me a plot where muse a and b are best friends (who everyone swears should be together) go on a trip to disneyland/world, and they come up with a scheme to pose as a married couple to get special discounts and perks. so, they’re set up in one of the resort’s honeymoon suites, wear the ‘just married’ buttons, and get to soak up the benefits of everyone’s congratulations. but things get a little intense when things like ‘hey, why is this attractive ride attendant hitting on my fake wife?’ or ‘okay, maybe i like sharing a bed with you a little too much’ happen. give me that pls.

My life”, she answers briefly, because she knows that in his rage, he cannot control his force. Sometimes, when he attacks the younger children, the older boys throw themselves between them because they are scared he will kill them accidentally. “But okay..I’m in.”
The CERTAINTY of her response sends a shiver down Anya’s spine. There’s no sign except the shuddering exhale that follows. It isn’t a comfort. Her eyes LOCK with Ella’s without faltering for a second though. “We’re not letting that happen.” We because she can’t do it all. Or be at her side 24 7. She can’t even keep her safe for 12 hours. Her powers are LIMITED. That’s the truth she hates. “You’re not going to die by his hand, Ella.” It’s a promise she’ll make with the last breath of her OWN if she must. “Starting tomorrow, I’ll train you.”
His voice was cold and disparaging, “You fail her Onya, you let her lose her concentration… allow her to be distracted.” He would not allow her feelings to get in the way of the great warrior she was destined to become, “Love is her weakness.”
Her tone and stance both MATCH his. “I’ve taught her to keep her concentration. If she’s distracted it’s because she seeks an ESCAPE from you.” She knows she needs to be careful. That his position means he’s due more RESPECT than this but she can’t help thinking that so is she. “No. Lexa shows no sign of weakness.”
You tutor my younger sibling and they have a really big crush on you but you’re really cute AU

Clarke followed Anya quietly and rolled her eyes at the comment of the time they’ll need. Clarke was sure she was going to manage. It might be hard at the beginning but once you know how fast something moves you are able to hit it and Clarke knew she could do that. They’d been training for days now and not only archery which happens to be her weakness. A knife and a sword were weapons she could handle now but this bow and arrow were a pain in the ass. Of course Anya decided to teach her that. “I’ll be there at sunrise.”
She didn’t have to watch Clarke to know the eye roll was there. She’d studied the girl often enough. And the blonde was hardly SUBTLE with her tells. None of the sky people were. The warrior ignored that though, choosing to focus on how INTENTLY the other’s mind had set itself on the task. If she listened closely she could hear it. Days of training were finally starting to influence her new protege’s levels of CONCENTRATION. That was what really mattered. Not the bow. It was a prop. A means to an end. And in the end, she would be ready. Anya’s job would be done. “And I’ll see you then.”

“More an I got lucky this time.”
“You couldn’t have given me any warning I suppose.. Jesus..”
“Lucky you found me.”
“No. Giving you a WARNING would’ve meant giving him one.

Night had fallen over the township, but some of the adults were still at a council meeting, Anya included. Ella nervously waited for her mentor to come home, pacing the small space they had lived in for so long. There was an urgent matter she had to address and she was not sure how well Anya would take to it. At nearly 18 now, Ella considered herself to be an adult, but still cared about Anya’s opinion. As the older woman entered their home, she walked over, smiling slightly. “I’ve waited for you, gona. Can I talk to you for a moment?”
Ella never calls her GONA unless she’s in trouble or she wants something. The words that follow don’t give away which it is. Not immediately. Though her expression is more TELLING. And Anya raises an eyebrow as she inclines her head to beckon the girl closer to her. It’s a YES. It’s never not going to be. They can speak openly. They always have. She waits for the other to speak but when the younger doesn’t, she kicks off her boots and begins herself. “You’re nervous. You never did learn to hide it well.” She wears a small smile of her own. BEMUSED. “Go on. I’ll take my turn waiting. Deep breaths. Steady words.”
