My main blog is hidden from searches, so this is where I very occasionally post stuff into tags. Fic blog: @lesbianpegasusknight
The amazing header art is by @endsofthearth! Icon art is by me.
The law is only as good at its practitioners. It can be a shield that keeps the people safe from harm, or a sword wielded to wound them. Just one among many of the law’s great contradictions.

Her eyes are closed, and her expression is serious and unreadable. She is in greyscale, while the gavel is golden, with a slight glow around it in the tan background.]

The voices of the dead fight to be heard. And even then, they don’t always reach us.

For Engage Month Day 6 (Lythos), I wanted to share my nonbinary Alear design. ❤️💙 I love the interpretation of Alear's story as a trans allegory and was curious what a combination of their canon designs would look like (+a couple extra details for fun). This is just a quick mockup, but if anyone wants to use it as inspiration for their own design/art at all, then feel free.
Meg and Mozu as childhood friends in a modern AU (plus a little friend they found while playing outside 🐢), drawn for last year's FE Artscuffle. Mozu reminds me of Nephenee, so I think she and Meg would get along great! I associate turtles with armor knights, and I think Meg would like that they carry their homes with them. 💚
Headshots for last year's FE Artscuffle. I had fun experimenting with these!
1. Ninian with blue hydrangeas, meant to represent frigid emotions and regrets, but also gratitude and acceptance.
2. Soren's Valentine's alt from FEH with trans pride flowers.
3. Astrid/Marcia Pokémon AU. I chose Eevee to represent Astrid's potential as a Paragon user who left an oppressive situation, and a chatty flying friend for Marcia.
4. Pirate Jill! I wanted her to look cool and dapper.
Timerra/Merrin has been my favorite Engage ship since I first encountered them. Timerra is my favorite character, and she deserves a devoted partner that supports her in her hands-on approach as Solm's heir. Their supports have such an intimate feel to me, both serious yet comfortable at the same time. The script is great by itself, but I think the music choices and voice acting really add to the tender and flirty atmosphere. The typical A support music being used straight away in the C support gets across how close they are, and the lack of music in the B support creates its own hushed sense of intimacy.
I also adore their backstory. I love how Merrin has always seen Timerra as her princess, even before knowing her station. Timerra's core ideal is to accept others for who they are regardless of their origins, and Merrin's story is about how she wanted to escape the life decided for her to pursue her dreams instead. They are able to live the lives they want and be their best selves because of each other. I also enjoy the slight tension of Timerra asking Merrin's mother's permission to knight Merrin, with Merrin agreeing to become matriarch someday.
Of course, Timerra's team has a lighter side as the Racket of Solm. Despite how Timerra and Merrin are both noted by others to be bad at singing, Merrin's ally notebook lists Timerra's songs as one of her likes, and Merrin says in her supports with Panette that though people always told her she was a terrible singer, Timerra praised her voice as unique, which Merrin seems to have taken to heart. They're both meat lovers as well, with Merrin also enjoying Timerra's cooking.
Merrin's other supports show her care for Timerra's well-being. She tells Panette she couldn't live with herself if she made Timerra cry, and her supports with Kagetsu are about how her conviction to protect Timerra is so strong that it can spur her to win any duel.
Since Timerra values freedom and independence, I sometimes wonder how these two manage Merrin's more protective side as shown in the aforementioned support chain. Since they have such a fond and trusting relationship, I have to imagine they can work through that, but it's still an interesting potential conflict to explore (especially with how Timerra's ring support reveals that she worries her bonds with others will keep her tied down).
Another thing I love thinking about is how in most of Merrin's supports, we see her trying to act cool while flirting with women, only for the parts of her that are enthusiastic, clumsy, or awkward to come out. While this is very endearing, I think it's interesting that she manages to keep up her cool knightly side with Timerra, arguably the person she most wants to impress. Even so, I'm sure Timerra would be super accepting of Merrin being more expressive and indulging her hobbies, just like how she supports Merrin's cringe singing, and they also must have seen many sides of each other when they initially traveled together (as well as when Timerra's team travels together in the epilogue).
As for the Fell Xenologue, I love Merrin's interaction with fell Timerra. The way that Merrin manages to be so smooth even with this version of Timerra, even in the face of learning that the Merrin of this world is dead, really shows her care for Timerra. The fact that even fell Timerra is so affected by seeing her really says a lot, especially since fell Timerra's convo with Fogado reveals that this version of her thinks that as a queen, she has to remain stoic at all times, to the point where he has to remind her she's still human. That fact has always felt revealing of regular Timerra as well, who tries to stay strong due to her station in a different way, just with more of a casual front--just one more reason I love seeing someone so doting at her side.
