Giving homeless people MONEY instead of FOOD can save their lives this winter, shelters cost money, being able to sit in McDonald’s and nurse a coke for a couple hours to warm up costs money, often accessing public toilets (whether it’s to use them, wash up or just to be out of the wind) costs money. 

Just give homeless people cash, just do it, no excuses, no whining about “enabling their drug habits”, if you have money to spare, give it and possibly save someone from literally freezing to death.

Got a new piece of kit! Came in the mail yesterday so I've been learning it with a idea that's been floating around in my head the past week. Just a quick video with bad audio quality but I think the fun of the idea still comes across!

I’d like to have a TDOV appreciation post here especially for trans/nb/gnc people who would want to physically transition but can’t for health reasons. I’m one of them — as oddly validating as it is as an afab nonbinary person to know that estrogen is Actual Literal Poison in my body because of cancer, it also bars me from doing HRT for life unless by some miracle I achieve permanent remission. That is a great source of sorrow and dysphoria for me and it gives me a lot of intrusive thoughts about whether I should just give up and try to be cis again, even though I know it’ll fail.

I just want other people, especially disabled/chronically ill people whose bodies impede the way they wish they could transition, to know that they’re not alone out there and while this is a cruel fate to live through you’re still deserving of love and community. And you’re absolutely welcome to share your stories here, too. <3

Bartolina Sisa

Bartolina Sisa was an indigenous Aymara woman in what is now Bolivia (and then New Spain.) In 1781 she and her husband, Tupac Katari, led a revolt in and around the city of La Paz that involved at least 40,000 rebels and destroyed most of the city. Their forces laid siege to the city and Sisa herself commanded forces after her husband was captured by the Spanish.

Sisa herself was captured at the end of 1781. On September 5, 1782, she was publicly beaten and raped before being hanged. She was dismembered and her body parts were taken across New Spain to be used as reminders to the indigenous people of what happened if they, too, tried to revolt.

In 1983 the annual International Day of the Indigenous Women was created and celebrated on September 5th to honor Sisa and other women like her.

no offence but i think a lot of us me included don’t actually want romantic love as badly as we think and really are just lonely and crave a closeness and intimacy that feels out of reach in friendships because of society’s emphasis on marriage and the nuclear family so we project that into the never ending search for a perfect love and a soulmate when really we all just want to mean something to someone

like i’m not dissing romantic love i would to be in love rn but i get so frustrated because humans are such social creatures and we need community to survive but we are taught that we need to pair off and so a lot of us spend a great majority of our lives lonely in between romantic encounters or we settle for less and give ourselves away to people because we are in constant fear of ending up completely isolated and alone and it’s so sad

fun little loop idea.  everything written, played, and mixed by me! I only write that b/c usually i end up programming a lot of things for fidelity reasons.  but this time the drums and guitar are live through a nice mic, the bass is direct, and the keys are a sampled boesendorfer played with a yamaha keyboard.
