I like the sun tattoo around her eyes
ALLUKA ZOLDYCK!! I changed her design a tiny bit,,, she looks a little older! Still very cute, I think.
which one of u was going to tell me that tea tastes different if u put it in hot water?
y- you were putting it in cold water?????
Radish. Answer the question radish.
yeah??? i thought for like. 5 years that ppl just put it in hot water 2 speed up the tea-ification process didnāt realize there was an actual reason
You dont have the patience to microwave water for 3 minutes???
[ID: Tags reading āu think i have the patience to boil water wtf ?????ā /End ID]
why are you. putting it in the microwave to boil it
Do you think I have the patience to boil water on the stove
Its takes less than a minute
Bestie is ur stovetop powered by the fucking sun
How long does it take you to boil a cup of water on the stove
Like seven minutes
Just stick the mug on top of the stove on medium heat n it boils in like two minutes⦠less than that is u use a saucepanā¦
Crying youāre putting the whole mug on the stove ???? On medium heat???? Ur stove is enchanted
Every single person in this post is a fucking lunatic
Yet another post that reads like four shakespeare characters who come out in the middle of the play to talk about something completely unrelated for comic relief
(Enter RADISHNāT, MOTHMAN MISATO, BOIMG FROG and CATS'N RAINCOATS, stage left. They are having a HEATED DISCUSSION.)
RADISHNāT: Prithee, which one of you had planned to tell
Of diff'rent flavours gained by simple act
Of brewing tea with water hot, not cold?
MOTHMAN: Egad! you poured the water cold? Wherefore?!
FROG: An answer from you, Radish, I must beg.
RADISHNāT: Indeed I did, dear friends - why does this shock?
Without the guide of others I assumed
That heat was merely added for the sake
Of expediting this solutionās brewing!
Half a decade I have spent, or more,
Not questioning this worldview I had made.
In fact, I am myself a bit surprised
That you might think that I, your dearest friend,
Might have a patience of sufficient stock
To wait until a pot of water boils.
FROG: Three minutes overtaxes patience so?
The microwave will beep when it is done!
CATS'N: My friend, this answer vexes me the more!
Can it be true that thou dost boil by nuke?!
FROG: Are you in turn, my friend, so shocked to know
That I have not the patience, like our Root,
To boil upon the stove our favourād drink?
CATS'N: It takes less than a minute!
FROG: On what plate?
Perhaps your dinner cooks atop the sun?
CATS'N: How long can take your stove to fill the task
Of boiling but a single cup alone?
FROG: In minutes?
CATS'N: Yes!
FROG: I counted seven, once.
CATS'N: Perhaps you ought to have your timepiece checked!
If on a middle heat you place the cup
You soon will have the scalding drink you crave.
Two minutes, in a mug upon the plate
Or even less, if you should have a pot.
FROG: You cause me tears - is this how thou dost live?
You place upon the iron stove a mug?
A mug, ceramic, filled with water cold?
How do these flames, though medium in height,
Not shatter like a glass this fragile thing?
Surely, then, your kitchen is bewitched
With magicks far beyond the mortal ken!
(The FOUR realise they have wandered into the THRONE ROOM. The ROYAL COURT watches with fascination.)
KING: Ev'ry single person in this group must be a fucking lunatic, it seems.
Draw?Ā No.
shinranĆ childhood š§øš
I know that Gosho gave us, during Detective Conan, many fragments of Ran and Shinichi's childhood. However my morbid love for them leads me to want something more!
An example? I would like to see the 1st, ever, jealousy that Shinichi felt towards Ran (perhaps due to a kid kidnapped by her beauty or one of the first performances in which Ran should have sweetened the audience with a romantic scene together with one of his small peer); honestly also the 1st jealousy of Kogoro towards Shinichi always for Ran.
The relationship Ran built with Shinichi's parents. Or their first fight, and the way they always sought each other out because they cared too much for each other. Surely to keep Shinichi's love alive for 13 years, everything Ran has done for all these years will have caused her heart to melt in a completely perennial way!
Am I the only one? š¤š»š
How can you forget the first jealousy Shinichi felt is around their first meeting when the teacher pay special attention to Ran
Look at those face 𤣠š
i wish you love that is not a test or a lesson
Nalu + Natsu Quotes
This is end of my blog actually thanks for all this time š Beauty quotes from natsujpg
idk. i think fandom could use a lot less of āevery personās interpretation of a text is valid and true!ā and more of āreading a text means taking all parts of it into account, including the bits you donāt like or the pairings you donāt ship, to consider what the full picture is and what the larger themes are.ā
projecting your fantasies onto a text, hyperfocusing on the characters you think are hot/shippable and building entire theories based on micro interactions that donāt take other competing dynamics and plotlines into account isnāt āanalysisā itās projection and fantasy. which is fine, but take responsibility for your desires and your fantasies instead of making fandom inhospitable for everyone. some readings of a text are plain wrong, others miss or willfully erase vital context just to rationalize romantic pairings. these are not accurate readings of the text. doesnāt mean they should be attacked or shamed, but neither can you expect people to validate every single headcanon and shipper fantasy as a legitimate āreadingā of the text either.
āI am Killua Zoldyck, your examiner for the third phase of the hunter exam.ā he appears on a huge screen, sucking a chocolate pocky stick. āWelcome to my castle, losers.ā
okay, so tumblr is always saying ālet boys be openly affectionate with other boys!!ā and claiming that friendships between boys and friendships between girls should be treated the same way. so why, when we get a friendship between two boys that are openly affectionate with each other in the way many girls are, are you heathens harassing them over whether theyāre dating or not? especially after theyāve said multiple times that it makes them uncomfortable and one of them is already in a relationship. itās hypocritical, and rude, and why are yāall trying to do this? canāt we just have a fun fandom filled with positive energy to enjoy a genuinely great movie with a genuinely great cast??
mr. togashi plz plz plz give some domestic moment with team woble.
Reasons to appreciate HxH
As if there werenāt enough.Ā
Itās hard to escape from some typical shounen tropes - NOTE: with this Iām not saying I despise those tropes, itās the opposite, otherwise I wouldnāt read them and regularly swoon on all those nakama/determination/will to fight/psyco enemies/apocalyptic scenarios pages - but when a shounen does, itās interesting to see how.
One of the things people argue very rarely about in manga is the concept of realistic human reactions, which means:
to expect from characters reactions that real world men and women would have in those situations
to read certain actions in a morale comparable to ours - given that the morale of shounen heroes tends to beĀ āaboveā, more strict, than that of average human being
The first point is particularly relevant. Shounens focus on action, and on reactions when they are a variable for action. The time given to them is usually read in the concept on 2., for even besides the hero, the other characters tend to have this aura of ataraxia around them - which is a topos of ancient Greek dramatic theatre, so nothing to criticize here.
But when shounens do take the time to analyze an event in a manner that a human, meaning not only us shounen addicts, can find appealing and realistic, itās worth the time to notice.Ā
In the Hunter x Hunter 358 we have the preparation of what we could define Ā a Battle Royal-Revenge squad-Spy Agency mission on a Titanic-like boat - yeah, the Whale gives it a cuter image, but itās still creepy. We have a bunch of princes of all ages and interests and occupations, from kids to martial artists to scientist to serial killers, who all want to kill each other. And then we have this:Ā
Unlike other princes, sheās fully responsible for her child. Sheās probably the lowest ranked wife, and ad she said, she unexpectedly found herself in a situation that backfired, not only for her, but for her child. When faced wtih the actual impellent necessity of being brave and ready to act, in order to save her life and her childās, she starts trembling. Also, Kurapikaās reaction is significant:
He had a family, friends, and he lost it all. On his way to revenge, he did find new friends - Gon, KIllua, Leorio, Senritsu -, who are themselves somehow weak and somehow, whose only stringht was the will to help him for selfless reasons: and he appreciated their value, but did go down even more in a world of ruthlessness and violence, and became a somewhat important figure in it. As he said to Mizaistom, he didnāt ban the use of violence himself.Ā
In such a world, where there is no place for hesitation or fear, and thereās no telling how low he went, because the story didnāt tell, but low enough for him to forget about the new friends he had made, the only allies he could say to have, the queenās fear surprised him: he hadnāt seen such a thing in a long time.Ā
And it reminded him how human beings normally behave: they experience fear, for themselves and for those they love. And it reminded it to us.
They shudder. They tremble.Ā
Queen Oito is not a coward. Sheās not brave either, at least for what weāve known so far. Sheās scared, sheās human. She doesnāt shout to the world that she will kill all of her childās enemies: she actually realizes she may not win. She is human, she could be a real person in the real world.
And Kurapika too, finds in his hardened hearth a familiar feeling: mercy, will to help. He could be real as well.
How do you think the narrative handled Ging's character? I still can't get over the fact that he just believed Gon could overcome every challenge and survive with his friends' help. He didn't seem to care about his mental health. Seems like a bad shounen cliche. Will Togashi adress it at some point, I mean, deconstructing Ging like he did with Gon (who always got what he wanted because of his determination and optimism untill chimera ant arc) or maybe I just don't understand his character?
Hello anon! Sorry if I took a while!
So my simplest answer to your question on how the narrative handled Ging is: I think Togashi has just begun with him and so it is difficult to say how he will be used and explored in the future.
As a matter of fact the Election arc where Ging appeared for the first time is basically a short arc which serves both as a closure to the first part of the manga with Gon and Killua separating and each one ending a significant part of their arc:
And as an introduction arc to new characters like the Zodiacs who will be at the centre of future arcs. Among these characters Ging and Pariston in particular are set up as important and will probably get arcs of their own.
In short, right now trying to predict where Gingās character will go or to give a final judgement on him would be equivalent to basically doing the same with Gon based on the first three volumes of the manga.
Whatās more, I think that thoughts on Ging should be divided into two categories.
a) Thoughts on him as a central part of Gonās arc since he has been Gonās main motivation up until they met.
b) Thoughts on him as a character with his own arc and personal involvement into the main plot.
So Iāll try to give you some thoughts on him by foiling him with two other characters: Silva Zoldyck and Gon himself. In particular the first will help me analyze him as Gonās father, while comparing him to Gon will help me trying to define him better as his own character.
Keep reading
Yāknow, Iāve been thinking some more about it, and itās not that those of us who defend Ging in fandom think heās this great awesome person whoās done no wrong. We donāt. We know heās an asshole, we know heās a jerk, we know that heās not a stable man by any stretch of the word.Ā We know.
We wouldnāt be defending Ging at all if people accused him of the shit he did pull as a person. Not as a dad, becauseĀ he wasnāt in Gonās life enough to be considered an authority figure, but as a person:
he leaves home at 12 and doesnāt even send a postcard until heās back 10 years later to throw a baby on their doorstep without explaining where the hell heās been;
thinks this kid heād fathered (but wouldnāt raise for whatever reason we donāt know) has some potential as a Hunter so he irresponsibly nudges him āgentlyā onto the path;
sics Razor on Gon because of this weird faith-in-Gon issue heās got;
creates chaos wherever he goes because heās too bored otherwise, and has such a short attention span that if somethingās not catching his interest, itās not worth his attention;
doesnāt trust people he thinks donāt share his interests to understand his motives;
mocks people who ask for his help;
disappears when heās needed;
has zero social skills, foot-in-mouth syndrome and a general doesnāt-care-what-society-thinks-of-him disposition;
manipulates people into doing whatever he thinks is right.
The only thing that has anything to do with Gon is Gingās attempt to nudge Gon towards Hunterhood (and how to be a good Hunter), which backfires because Mito has never mentioned Gingās box or the condition heād set for giving it to Gon.
Honestly now - how many of you remember who was your main caretaker when you were 2? Yes, the disappearance of a parent can be detrimental to a kidās life even if theyāre loved and well-cared for, but at this age itās less about the act of getting abandoned and more about how the abandonment affects the kidās environment during their growth. (Itās a little more compicated than that, but this is the gist.)
Ging does have some good sides, though, because heās a complex, round character whoās not all bad (only like, 85% bad):
he talks sense into Gon when Gon confesses to feeling guilty over Kiteās death;
good at understanding that learning a new thing is a gradual process (Greed Island);
capable of maintaining strong and long-lasting connections with people who share his interests;
has faith in Gon (for whatever thatās worth, and probably misplaced);
keeps general tabs on Gonās whereabouts and status (which can be considered creepy and bad);
once you get past the bullshit listed above, heās highly empathic.
So here you go. Two lists detailing Gingās good and bad points. Disliking Gingās fine, hating him is fine too, but please hate him for the right reasons.Ā
Personally, I think all of this makes him an interesting character, but not one Iād like to be in the same room as him. Good in story and fic, but please keep away from my life.
