It is like, pretty funny the reactions Charlie and Alastor got as season 2 premiered, what with the fraud allegations and Charlie's characterization getting the majority of hate
Because uh, I actually came out of season 2 liking both these characters ALOT more. Ok, I always liked Charlie and Alastor, but like dude I am so happy Alastor didn't turn out to be all powerful. I love that this guy actually has to scheme and trick people to get what he wants, that is 1000 times more fun of a character than him just being an asshole with big fuck off demon powers.
And I'm even happier they didn't turn Charlie into just, a benevolent caretaker. I love that the whole point of her character is that she has NO CLUE what the fuck she's doing and is just desperately trying to figure things out and prove herself.
There's also just something inherently relatable to me about a woman trying so hard to get people to listen to her, only for them to either downplay her efforts, twist her words, or just dismiss her entirely.
I seriously need season 3 to just be like, the great humbling for Vox.
The fandom perception of Alastor confuses me so much actually. Quite literally quite simply quite obviously the Main Theme/Entire Point of Hazbin is "the key to redemption is allowing love to motivate you instead of fear" and then ppl will deadass look at The Guy Who's Motivated Entirely By Fear Always and is A Main Character and is So So So Fucking Lonely because he had one genuine friendship ever and allowed his fear to destroy it and go "yeah he's an endgame villain, he will never get better actually"
My biggest theory for season 3 is that it's about to get worse for Alastor before it gets better. Like I could really see them continuing the trend of Alastor having his identity and perception of himself challenged.
(wip) wolf in sheeps clothing🐺
i wanted to make a design for his sweater in chapter 15 because it perfectly symbolizes possessed!al's/alastor's persona.
i love drawing him he's very scrunkly :)) 🤎
Serious matters
When I say that Angel would do anything for his friends while Husk would do anything for HIM I don't mean it like Husk doesn't care about the rest of the Hotel- he obviously does, especially about Niffty and now Cherri, but he knows Angel. He knows that Angel, unlike him, isn't passive. He is the guy who jumped in to save the Eggboy during the final war, he is the guy who constantly refuses to back down against his own abuser when anyone else is in danger, he is the guy who would rather go live in the evil rape building that hurt them.
And that is scary as fuck because Angel is in the most vulnerable position anyone there is. No magic of his own (notice how easily Vox unarmed him), no self-esteem, no nothing. He is Husk's favorite person and Husk would appreciate it alot if he stopped hurting himself.
I think part of why Vox hates Angel so much is becuse he undermines his authority at every trun. We even see think with him spitting in Vox's face. I don't think this is the first time he's snaped back at Vox. I can fully see him being rude as all hell to Vox only to in a ironic twist hide behind Val because Vox isn't aloud to hurt Val's toys.
We get explicity that Vox has been waiting to back hand slap Angel himself meaning that Val must have explicity been stopping him. Of corse not out of possession not protection.
Still the effect to Vox is the same. Angel makes it look like he has less than 100% authority because he does.
Vox also just can't stand known Angel doesn't like or repect him. If Angel at least repected him he could tolerate that.
Some times Angel is obviously asked to act like he gets along with Vox and Vox hates that more. He feels Angel is trying to lie to him even though Angel has littelry no say in the matter.
THIS. To add on, it's like, not only is Angel 'defiant' in Vox's eyes, his supposed 'stubborness' also takes up a part of Valentino's attention and that definitely pisses Vox off.
Just the idea that, someone he believes to beneath him could inadvertently take attention away from him, I think really gets under Vox's skin.
Happy Pride Month everyone!! 💖💖
I do love how in the finale Alastor was all "Your screams will make for a satisfying broadcast!"
And then after doing a city wide brawl, almost getting eaten by a robot shark, almost getting shot, almost perma-dying in an explosion, and then watching Vox get his head ripped off by his situationship was apparently just like,
"You know what I don't even care anymore, will Rosie PLEASE just fix my staff already so I can go home!!"
Vox TIRED this man out 😭
I have a head cannon that Alastor uses his powers like a security blanket when he's anxious. Like even when they aren't actually doing anything like when he's in the chair with Vox them just being present makes him feel better.
Also when ever he's gets upset and calls on his powers it's not just becuse he's ready to fight but also to self soothe.
Also I think his horns grow when he's trying to feel like he's scary vs his showdow powers that are more for safety.
Also I do think he was like actually triggered after the fight from adam not just becuase be almost died but also becuase at that point he was to weak to pull on his powers anymore.
If he where to lose them in a longer capacity I think he would like fully spiral (even if this is a temporary thing like say being trapped with angelic steal).
This makes me so scared for if he does end up taking more of an antagonist role next season, because yeah what IS he gonna do if his powers get taken away or limited in a fight and he has a full blown identity crisis??? 😭
I wouldn't mind the blank if it were written by xyz memes, if they were ever actually funny....and also didn't seem to exclusively go after women writers.
