My 2 favorite claims about heated rivalry that are like objectively untrue are 1. it was written for sports fans and 2. it was written to combat homophobia and misogyny in the nhl. The majority of hr fans were not hockey fans before and it's fucking obvious because most of them don't know how it works and only care about the yaoi. My friend that recommended it to me said there was "too much hockey" in it despite them being on the ice for 5 or 10 minutes at the absolute MOST in 6 episodes and when I went to a pwhl game a few months ago I saw 8 hr jerseys in my section alone.
