The Werewolf
Or about therianthropy, tulpa, daemonism and my inner nightmares.
I think I had some kind of experience similar to what therians call shift some months ago. Iâm not even sure I can speak about it like a âshiftâ as a therian would do, or like something similar the âwonderlandâ of the tulpa people. I only know that I was extremely stressed and anxious for many reasons, full of negative feelings and ready to explode. Iâm not a teen, Iâm a young adult who is struggling to adapt to our disgusting society and find a way to survive in it. I was still studying to take my late graduation, scared by the idea of not find a job and not be able to pay bills and buy food. All of this, mixed to the personal feeling to not be good enough, to be a fail, to not be worth anything, made me feel extremely bad⌠and very, very aggressive. I felt like I had to defend myself against everything and everyone, even my companion. Iâm a artist, Iâve always felt inspired by the image of the wolves, but during this bad time their image changed from simple animals to blood-thirsty werewolves, destroyers, furious machines of death. It was relieving to think about them, and games like Werewolf: the Apocalypse and Werewolf: Forsaken helped me to create my fantasy fetish to vent my aggressiveness.
My imagination is a powerful tool, and a few times I imagined myself as a werewolf. I runned through blooming meadows, hunted my prey, fought against other werewolves to keep my low rank, imagining the physical sensation of my claws and teeth stabbing living flesh, my burning lungs while running breathlessly and the taste of blood. It was incredibly vivid, and helped someway to vent my negative energy, even if Iâve never felt better after it. I perfectly know that everything was a game created by my brain trying to escape by my prison of sufference, a way to disconnect from my insane reality. But if daemonism taught me something, is that I cannot be anyone else exept myself. Iâm a human beign, Iâm a animal, and refuse this reality can only lead me to madness. I talked about this experience with Faun and he truly hates when I do this âshiftâ, heâs usually very gente and and peaceful but he really canât stand it and I understand why. If I loose the sense of reality I loose the very few anchorage to my existence, I would completely get lost. And I donât want this, I started praticing daemonism to learn to listen myself and get better as person, to learn to understand and accept all my flaws, because if I embrace my weakness then no one can use them against me. The shift drag me inside my nightmares, the daemonism push me outside where I can breath and fight against my real enemies, in the only world that truly exist.
So thatâs it. Iâm not a therian and I will never be. Only my nightmares can haunt me, and when Iâll defeat them Iâll be the only one to remain. Â
