theres a lot of different opinions on new leaf vs new horizons but i will say you kind of cannot overlook that new horizons lets you be black

i miss a lot of new leaf stuff too but like . you cannot be black in new leaf . i dont think this should be considered one bullet point in a list of pros and cons it should at least be underlined and circled like ' you cannot be black in new leaf ' is a major issue

Bulk buying customization kits was a sleeper in this update👀

I think the three-segment Splatfest sign being fully customizable is going to open up huge opportunities for creative custom designers. Big billboards, concession stands, sales booths-- there's so much that can be done with them.

I've seen some speculation that the old amiibo villagers-- you know, W. Link, Inkwell, etc-- are still going to be in the 3.0 update, but that Nintendo only wanted to show off the new stuff in the trailer.

I wanna take that to the next level in the stupidest way possible. I think you should still be able to use the Squid Sisters amiibos to get the Splatoon 1 versions of Cece and Viché, and that they should be treated as separate villagers from the Splatoon 3 versions. You should be able to have an island with Cece and Cece and Viché and Viché all living next to each other

In New Horizons, the mannequins in the Able Sisters re-use the player model with a few facial features taken off, and being recolored to black. This was likely to make it easier for the developers to interchangeably place clothing on them.

Due to this, they are actually compatible with all of the game's player animations. They're just normally set to only do the mannequin-specific "animations", all of which are just a 1-frame pose. In this gif, I have swapped the poses for the Shrunk Funk Shuffle, demonstrating this quirk.
