Putting Tom Nook from Animal Crossing on hiatus for the time being while I figure out what to do with him. Today's date is 8th January!
Heāll be placed on hiatus for you!
ā ā capella!
ā§*:dļ¾| THE scientist nods in silent understanding, knowing all too well that some battles should rest or die. Heās GRACIOUS enough to simply listen as the other speaks. Concedes. To which, he simply nods his head and immediately begins his work. Not a single complaint as he lifts wooden furnishings with ease. For his now placid demeanor, behaviour may be more likely to follow up the lashing anger he RECENTLY felt.
āOh, Iād quite like to enjoy tea, but only if it is no trouble to you. I can brew a mean pot, myself.ā A light laugh as he sets aside his load, almost as if there was NOTHING there to begin with. āTea is good for clearing the mind and helping you calm. Iām sure youāll be able to tackle this city once youāve drunk your fill. Or so, that is what I hope.ā
{ š }Ā ā āIt is not. Hm, a little rest is good for a healthy body, especially at my age, oh yes. Chasing ambition is a lot harder when your knees are clicking.ā For a moment more, he sighs dejectedly, but itās brushed away as quick as he brushes dust from the fur on his arms. Heāll come back to this project another day, that much he knewĀ he would do, for working under the eyes of another rarely sat well for him.
Turning to the stranger, he has the dignity, at least, to be sheepish, wringing paws and stepping from foot to foot. Oh, what a fool he is, to let his mask slip over a little frustration! Well, the man was kind enough to help, so Nook begins to lift wooden pieces too, stashing them away in a narrow strip between buildings. At least, enough that no passerby might trip. āHm, thank you,ā he utters when the last plank is set in the stash. āMy home isnāt too far from here, hm, and company is always welcome, always, yes.ā

The residents and I are throwing Fuchsia a going away party to wish her luck on her new adventures.
āā ā āL>oghain finds himself smiling at that CONFIDENCE. He could always scold the animal not to be too cocky, but he senses an effort to not seem too weak, an attempt at saving face. Loghain is a large amount of things, but someone who tears down the egos of strangers is absolutely not one of them. He nods his head as if to say āgoodā.
āWell, that explains your CURIOSITY, doesnāt it?ā Understandable, for even if the animal doesnāt plan on spending too much time in his home district, heād still need to traverse through it to get where he needs to go. āwell, there is venues for concerts, watersports, games ⦠It isnāt too bad in theory, but still a bit overwhelming in my tastes. I suppose it is WORTH it if you enjoy fishing or going to concerts.ā
{ š }Ā ā Ā āOh, hm, concerts sound wonderful!ā That all depended on the acts, of course, but even a smaller act in an evening club would prove a pleasant distraction from time to time. No K.K.Slider, but enjoyable none-the-less. Fishing, also, sounded wonderful, if it hadnāt been so longĀ since he last did it. Well, no matter, once heād established something here, Nook felt confident he could give fishing a bit of a go once more. But something more important came to mindā¦
āOh! What about golf courses? Even a little miniature golf park is wonderful, yes, yes. Itās a nice past-time to have but, hm, cities donāt haveĀ it, do they?ā A shame, really, but one that didnāt deter the pep in his step, much happier now to have a sated curiosity. Who knows, if he could find the funds well enough, maybe he could open his own course some day!

{ š } HE GIGGLES, AMUSEMENT WORN CLEAR UPON his sleeve. The raccoon creature is positively adorable when afraid, but it almost makes him feel bad for the tease. Heāll reign himself in, but not fully; thereās still some degree of FUN to be had from his bout of teasing!
āWELL, YOU DO LOOK AS THOUGH youāre sorry, so I suppose I can oblige, little man. Youāre TRYING to be polite.ā And to a normal person, that would be enough, but Gangrel, well, heās not exactly normal. āCorrect, my little trash panda. Plegia is a desert kingdom in the middle of the Ylissean continent. The heat may be HARSH, but hey, itās home!ā
{ š }Ā ā āA-A desert? Oh, hm, you must be a powerful king then, to stand the heat, yes!ā Well, the thought of visiting a desert kingdom didnāt appeal to Nook all that much, with visions of clammy fur and dehydration. No, for as difficult as cities were to navigate, Nook /far/ preferred his new home here than a potential blistering desert.
Though honestly, he hadnāt really been to a desert, and it might be too presumptuous to assume they were anything like a day at the beach. Shuffling from paw to paw, he wonders just how best to address the peculiar ākingā. āHm, could you tell me about it? Oh, that isnāt too rude, is it? Oh no, Iām merely curious!ā

terribly shocked! the words elicit an unamused expression from the depths of his chest, an EQUALLY unamused sound curdling within the back of his throat to regard the animal with faint disdain. he feels like heās being toyed with, even if the creature looked more MONSTER than man. but ganondorf did not terribly like zora or goron much either. he hugs his arms around his chest, the little king in this VULNERABLE state.
āi donāt know,ā he grumbles. āi do not know MOST of these flavors.ā and it is true, for SWEET treats are not often found in his homeland. āi want to try ALL of them!ā something about not knowing these things angers him greatly. As of this information is being kept from. āfirst, i want what YOU picked!ā and heās impatient, bouncing on the heels of his feet. ready to strike if need be, as if the damn ice cream is his PREY.
{ š }Ā ā Nook notices how off put the young boy was, curling in on himself despite how proud he tried to keep his little voice. Ears dip in pity, and quickly, he orders a matching ice cream for the young boy, quietly asking the vendor to add an extra scoop, more than willing to pay for it. Lifting up his phone, he quickly pays it off, and takes the offered scoops of ice cream.
āHm, here, this one is yours,ā he coos, handing over the slightly taller cone. Wandering over to a bench, he gestures the boy to follow along, and settles down. It barely takes a moment to indulge, more than happy with the extra honey sauce coating his ice cream. āThis is chocolate flavour, with honey on top. Have you tried it before? Itās delicious, oh yes!ā

regemverumā:
Ardyn knows heās irritating the stranger ā he doesnāt care much to stop, but he doesnāt care enough to continue either. He should be thankful that he will not be wasting money today, not that he has that much of it, anyway.
āA businessman?ā he inquires, and puts the trinket back down on the table.Ā āAnd what do you sell?ā He considers the options, thinks about what sort of nefarious objects this man might have in his arsenal. He smiles again. Itās entertaining to think about.
āIf youāre interested in the jewelry, mayhaps we should look at it. After all, you seem to understand business practices more than I.ā
{ š } Ā ā āAll sorts of general things, yes,ā Nook sighs, a little calmer now as the man sets down the so-blatantly fake trinket. The clerk, thank goodness, merely glanced over, but went back to reading his newspaper without so much of a question. āHm, before I came here, I mostly sold houses.ā
Stepping away from the table, he looks about the stalls for the entrance stall, tucked away, despite its somewhat prominent position. Old and forgotten amongst the flashier ones, and cared for by a withering old lady, Nook gestures towards it, and namely, the jewels that sat on the counter top.
āHm, thatās the one, yes. The jewellery doesnāt look so obviously poor taste, and hm, the smaller stalls always have the more interestingĀ things.ā The quicker he could get away from the furtive clerk, the better, and what better way to do it than to hide by a clearly forgotten stall?
