Who are the true believers?
They are those whose hearts are filled with awe when Allah is mentioned.
When His verses are recited to them, their faith grows stronger.
They place their complete trust and reliance upon their Lord.
They establish the prayer and spend in charity from the provisions Allah has blessed them with.
“Once in a while we meet a gentle person. Gentleness is a virtue hard to find in a society that admires toughness and roughness. We are encouraged to get things done and to get them done fast, even when people get hurt in the process. Success, accomplishment, and productivity count. But the cost is high. There is no place for gentleness in such a milieu. Gentle is the one who does ‘not break the crushed reed, or snuff the faltering wick.’ Gentle is the one who is attentive to the strengths and weaknesses of the other and enjoys being together more than accomplishing something. A gentle person treads lightly, listens carefully, looks tenderly, and touches with reverence. A gentle person knows that true growth requires nurture, not force. Let’s dress ourselves with gentleness.”
— Henri Nouwen, Bread for the Journey: A Daybook of Wisdom and Faith (HarperOne, nov. 2006)
You should pamper yourself, have a long late breakfast, read, listen to music, lounge a little. Do feel free to tell me any problems that are bothering you. It takes my mind off myself to think of other people.
Sylvia Plath, in a letter to her mother Aurelia, written c. November 1952, from Letters Home: Correspondence 1950-1963
Collect small astonishments. The first tomato of summer. A dog dreaming in its sleep. Someone laughing before they finish the joke. The moon arriving before the sun has quite departed. We keep waiting for life to announce itself with trumpets, but it has always preferred quieter instruments.

The most underrated act of kindness is letting people be. Let them mispronounce a word, talk too much about a show they love, or get excited about something you don't understand. Everyone got something that lights them up. let them shine, even if it's not your thing
"Trust that what is written for you will reach you, even if the world musters its armies to prevent it. For He who holds the keys of the unseen is never thwarted by any earthly lock. And every delay you see is nothing but a preparation of your own capacities to receive the gift at its perfect time."
When people truly love each other, they experience far more than just a mutual need for each other’s company and consolation. In—or through and because of—their relationship with each other they become different people: they become more than their everyday selves; they become more alive, more understanding, more abiding, more enduring, more patient, more courageous. They become better people. They are made over into new beings. They are transformed by the power of their love.
Thomas Merton, Love and Living
«reality after death»
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
"If you knew what you are facing after death, you would never eat with an appetite, nor would you drink anything with an appetite, you would not have entered your homes to seek shade and you would have gone out to the vast open plains beating your chests and weeping over your sins.
I wish I were a tree that was chewed up and eaten."
The Diseases & the Cure by Ibn al-Qayyim | pp. 146–147 | Pub. Hikmah Publications
The prophet ﷺ said,
Allah ﷻ said: My love is assured for those who love each other for My sake, who sit together for My sake, who visit each other for My sake, and who spend on each other for My sake.
Musnad Ahmad 22030
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Wealth is not in having many possessions, but rather (true) wealth is feeling sufficiency in the soul."
📚Sahih al-Bukhari 6446
Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrāh (رضي الله عنه) said:
أَلاَ رُبَّ مُبَيِّضٍ لِثِيَابِهِ ، مُدَنِّسٍ لِدِيْنِهِ! أَلاَ رُبَّ مُكْرِمٍ لِنَفْسِهِ وَهُوَ لَهَا مُهِيْنٌ! بَادِرُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ القَدِيْمَاتِ بِالحَسَنَاتِ الحَدِيْثَاتِ.
“How many a person whitens his clothes while soiling his religion! How many a person honours himself while in reality humiliating it! Hasten to erase old sins with new good deeds.”
Siyar A‘lām al-Nubalā: 1/18
