The aim of the present study was to obtain a basic knowledge of the hematology of Cyprinus carpio-Ornamental Koi Carp. The morphological features of blood cells were described according to the observations made by light and electron microscopy. Erythrocytes, thrombocytes and four types of leucocytes: lymphocytes, monocytes, heterophils and eosinophils, were distinguished and characterized.

The Oreochromis niloticus (Nile Tilapia) has of great socio-economic importance for the region and keeps active a population of about 700 to 900 fishers at Allahabad. The samples of Oreochromis niloticus were collected at random during the months of March 2008 to February 2009 from the middle stretch of the Ganga river at Allahabad, India.
