My friend, let's not think of tomorrow, but let's enjoy this fleeting moment of life.
-- Omar Khayyam
(Quarten, Switzerland)
Fate may be the type of yarn you are handed, but YOU get to decide how to weave it
With Winter Nights happening soon, I figured it's a good time to post my Chthonic Hymn to Yngvi-Freyr
Summer fades with silent swansongAnd the harvest of crops beginsAs you descend into the moundI whisper unto you, Yngvi-FreyrThe nights now g
Prayer for Freysblót
Old Norse
Heill Freyr! Heill Njörðr! “Folkmýgi lát flæja, Freyr ok Njörðr, af jörðum, leiðisk lofða stríði, landóss, þanns ve grandarr”
-Egill Skallrímsson, loose verse 21
Nú haustr skal koma, eptir sumarit goða regns ok sólar. Þökka fyrir auðr Jarðar. Í dag blæt ek brauð þér ok lát rísa Jörðin gegnum eldar til framtíð betri
English
Hail Freyr! Hail Njörðr!
“Freyr and Njörðr, let the people-oppressor flee from his lands; may the land-áss [Þórr] come to loath the tormentor of men, the one who damages sancutaries”
-Egill Skallrímsson, loose verse 21
Now autumn shall come, after the good summer of rain and sun. Thanks for [the] riches of [the] Earth This day I sacrifice to you bread and let the Earth rise beyond fires to a better future
King Freyr isn’t just the crops and the harvest— He is much more than what grows: He is the sun on our skin and the wind in our ears, as well as the water that flows and gives us life. It seems to me that Freyr is life itself, or at least, He is the one who sows it into every little seed. The Wane Son is the cycle of birth and rebirth, the guardian of everything which comes back to the earth.

Prayer to Freyja and Freyr for a prosperous and peaceful autumn
Words of praise to you, Freyja, Noble Queen of the Valkyrjur, for your steps make flowers to grow on your path, melting the heavy winter snow as you go.
Words of praise to you, Freyr, Noble King of the elves, for your golden heart is the source of peace, and your touch makes the harvest seasons to be plentiful.
You stand at each other’s side, glorious Children of Vanaheimr! You bear the wisdom and warmth of your holy land! And I sing your praise and ask for your blessings as fall comes.
I ask for a season that is prosperous, so that I might enjoy the fruits of harvest. I ask for a peaceful and joyful autumn, so that I might rest and celebrate in your names.
Hail to Freyja and Ing-Freyr!
Hail the Lady and Lord of Vanaheimr!
Óðinn finds you in the space between sleep and dreams, above the sky and beneath the earth.
His words sink like runes carved in fragrant wood, as age-old wisdom comes to life.
He who sees all with one eye, and who knows the secrets of the nameless tree, listens quietly.
He listens for songs in the wind, stray thoughts lost along roads; words spoken by the world.
