Recording for the yet-to-be titled MLP, which will also feature Aesop's drums and the cover, continues in piecemeal fashion as both Evan Foster (engineer/producer) and I have incredibly busy schedules. Things are sounding absolutely terrific-- we last tracked some wonderfully chorused and clanky Rickenbacker bass tone, and this time I'll be layering in the dreamy guitar parts before continuing with the rest. A good amount of Lowlife, Fields of the Nephilim and Red House Painters influence definitely leaked into this record.
Finally, at long last, it appears the vinyl version of our 2015 debut full-length, Of Loves and Days Ago, will be ready be the end of summer/early fall. Excited to see and hear this in its proper form. As always, it's a free download on our Bandcamp if you'd like to have a listen.

New MLP and cover song in the works, featuring Aesop Dekker on session drums
Yet again it appears I neglect this page all too often (Facebook and Instagram remain the best ways to track what we’re up to). In mid-March, my dear friend Aesop Dekker flew up to track drums for six new songs (including a special cover) at Soundhouse Studio. The cover song is fully complete, and the rest of the songs will be tracked in June. In the meantime, I’ll be finalizing bass parts, lyrics and vocal melodies, and initiating the vinyl pressing process for Of Loves and Days Ago.

Monochromantic Tour Edition 7″ now available
The remaining 37 copies of the tour version of our 2013 debut 7", Monochromantic, are now available in the Nostalgium Directive label webstore. These are on black/white swirl vinyl and packaged in letterpressed chipboard sleeves designed and printed by Demian Johnston. Due to some miscommunication on my part, the first draft of the sleeve text was printed and as such, there's some glaring typos present (there was something like 72 records originally pressed), but I maintain that the overall look is fantastic. As for the vinyl version of our Of Loves and Days Ago album, I will be getting to that after I fulfill the other promises I have made regarding Nostalgium Directive releases. Expect a late spring release at the earliest.

The current incarnation of this band is done. We all want different things, and are ending this lineup as friends. I wish Mark and Connor the best, and I am forever thankful for everything they put into our year together. I will continue writing songs as Nostalgist, and will bring it back as a full-on band, but only after I put substantial time into improving my own songwriting and musicianship.
