I think the only time I felt truly happy was at my childhood best friend’s house. We had no idea what was coming for us.

I still remember the smell of her room, her plushies, her old tv and the blankets. How her window was beautifully decorated with princesses stickers and how the sound of the wind relaxed me to sleep. It felt so safe, but we can't go back.
