Matthew M Murdock speaking, It seems that I have been given this personal tablet and Rumplr account as a reward for 'good behavior' by Shield. They left a braille note along with the tablet in my cell to find instead of handing it to me, this device is most likely being monitored.

Anyway enough talking to myself, go ahead and send me questions.

I hope I don't come off sounding impatient or brash but I am fairly curious as to what you've discovered during your investigation so far, Karen.

Karen stared at the message, feeling vague surprise. She hadn't expected to hear from him. Why not? She almost felt like she was waking up from a dream. Things had been difficult lately and she'd been coasting through the summer rather than engaging with anyone.

What was this about again? Wait, yes, it all came back to her in a rush. Matt was imprisoned.

Not her Matt, but Matt Murdock nonetheless. She had been talking to him and investigating his universe for months.

A quiet voice in the back of her mind told her that there must be a reason Matt Murdock would be imprisoned by SHIELD -- that she didn't know everything about his universe or even about him -- but it was a voice that was easy to ignore. Matt was her closest friend. Her brother, in all but blood.

She desperately wanted to be a savior. She wanted to save him.

And for that reason, she wasn't going to tell anyone about this. Not Foggy, not her Matt, not Wade or Peter or MJ, and not Von. She was going to take care of this herself.

Matt, I hope you're doing okay. I'll keep this brief. My sources tell me you're most likely being held in the Triskelion. I got some schematics of the layout through the dark web. They may not be exact, maybe a little out of date, but close enough to give me an idea of how to get around there. The one thing left is to know how your daily routine. What time of day do they leave you alone for a while? Is there certain times when you're not being directly observed?

I'm about the same as I always am. There isn’t much room for spontaneity within the schedule unless it's a holiday.

Ordinarily I am not directly observed by the guards during afternoon recreation, around 1-3:30pm. They tend to focus more on the inmates out in the yard than those within the recreation room. This is where I spend most of the allotted time either listening to audio books, music, browsing this website, or meditating with Samuel. He's gotten much better at reading braille on his own.

I can, however, hear a security camera in the room with me and a small group of guards do still patrol around the compound during this time.

The evening recreation is when the guards make sure to split into more groups so as to keep a better eye on everyone as final headcount and lights out draws near.

You know I met a version of you that refuses to kill, right? He's actually pretty chill, even if you both are emotional disasters.

Sitting on one of the recreation room chairs, Murdock reads through Gwen's message a few times to make sure he memorizes this new message. He's also rather confused as to the strange insult she decided to add.

Regardless, he at least has more information on what his alternate self and identity of Daredevil generally acts like. A seemingly mellow or perhaps level-headed man who has a rule against killing anyone. There's also the information he received from a different message of most Matthew Murdocks being free men, how incredibly interesting this all is.

Daredevil seems to be of the pure hero type who may or may not be fairly well liked by both the law and citizens a like, the motive behind his heroics is still an unkown factor unfortunately.

Either way Gwen has so generously given him some intriguing information that could be useful in his veneer of being like one of the good versions of Matthew Murdock within the multiverse. He makes sure to delete the message from his inbox before continuing to listen to his audio book.

Murdock lays upon his cot after the lights have been shut off for the night. He's been feeling rather restless lately as there hasn't been any updates from Karen about what she's been planning, what has been found during the investigation, or on what her current situation is. Almost a full month has passed by.

If he were still Kingpin or The Western Sun he would of requested that his subordinates give him what information they have by now and to avoid any distractions from their current assignment. It's quite unfortunate that he holds neither of those positions anymore nor does he have any real power over Karen. Pressuring her for results and information would most likely just weaken the trust and faith she has for him.

He needs to keep up the charade of him being a good person placed in an unfair situation for a good while longer. Once he's escaped both Shield and whats left of The Hand in New York would no doubt do everything in their power to hunt him down, either to kill or recapture him. It'd be wise to jump to another Earth entirely instead of having to constantly run and hide.

He huffs in annoyance and turns onto his side in a futile attempt to get comfortable. She has until the middle of August, if very little progress has been made by then he'll put his own plan into action. From what he's heard that is around the time maintenance on several areas within the prison is scheduled to being, he'll just need a distraction large enough to slip away unnoticed with Samuel.

Spider-Woman, the spider powered hero of my Earth. She hasn't been seen swinging around for some time.

Samantha Wilson, Captain America. A soldier from World War II that received a super soldier serum. She fought against the Nazis before disappearing into a interdimensional gateway, at least based on the story I heard, for seventy five years before arriving back and becoming an agent for Shield.

Janet Van Dyne, a retired superhero who formally went by the alias of The Wasp. I believe she's a fashion designer.

Luke Cage, the hero of Harlem whom I have heard has impenetrable skin.

Susan and Johnathan Storm. They were originally the stars of The Fantastic Four TV series but seem to of recently come into powers of their own.

Katherine Pryde and Logan could be considered heroes. They work for Shield and have powers of their own like Captain America.

Now onto the villians, I can talk about the other inmates within this prison at a later date if you wish to know about them.

Adrian Toomes, also known as The Vulture, he wore a mechanical wing suit and battled against Spider-Woman several times. One battle he waged was seemingly under the orders of The Kingpin.

Aleksei Sytsevich, also known as the Rhino. A large and very powerful man who followed the orders of The Kingpin.

Wilson Fisk, The Kingpin. He should still be in jail. Although he was able to relay messages to the criminals under his command while in solitary confinement before so there is a chance he's managed to free himself. I've learned that he's the Mayor on your Earth, which is certainly an intriguing difference between our universes.

Cindy Moon, leader of a criminal organization known as Silk.

Felicia Hardy, singer of the band The Black Cats and a proficient thief.

Harry Osborn, Green Goblin as well as The Lizard. He stole a suit of armor from Shield and injected himself with a lizard serum, this was in an effort to get revenge on Spider-Woman for killing Peter Parker. Spider-Woman cured him of his affliction later on.

Frank Castle, nicknamed The Punisher by those he worked with in the NYPD due to his excessive violence towards suspects. He hired a man known as Kraven the Hunter to attack George and Gwen Stacy in order to lure out and arrest Spider-Woman.

Ha. Fisk may be mayor right now, but he'll always be Kingpin. Somehow he managed to sway the voters in this universe, that's all. It won't be forever.

It's interesting how many women you mentioned. Proportionately more than in my universe, I think.

A lot of those names you mentioned are familiar to me, though. The rest I'm going to look up.

I noticed that you didn't mention the X-Men. In our universe the mutant gene shows up in a small but growing portion of the population. One of the most famous mutants, Charles Xavier, is a rights activist and started a school for children who carry the gene right here in New York. Like any minority group in this country, they face discrimination and are targeted as scapegoats.

Part of the faculty at the school are a group who call themselves the X-Men--

*Karen stops scrolling suddenly. Her note-taking pen falls from her nerveless fingers and rolls across her desk, falling to the floor before she can catch it. She stares at the last part of the message.*

This is certainly fascinating, I haven't heard of anyone known as Charles Xavier nor am I aware of that mutant gene. There could be several reasons behind that such as the gene being a much rarer occurrence on my Earth or perhaps because the gene simply doesn't exist in the same way that it does on your Earth.

Although, I have heard rumors of Ms. Pryde being born with her phasing ability instead of receiving it in a lab like her and Logan's metal claws. There is a chance that these rumors are simply baseless speculation but it could also point towards her being a mutant.

Castle was still alive last time I heard from him but it has been several years since then. I believe he was originally jailed in this compound along with Ms. Hardy and Moon but were let out after accepting an offer from Shield to form a new team with Captain America. This could just be gossip that's been spread around the prison by bored inmates and guards however.

Normal Matt hid being Daredevil from Foggy for so long for so long and it meant drama and it meant angst and secrets and reveals, and it is my firm believe that Earth 65 Matt did not bother. I don’t think he explained anything ever. I just believe a normal day for them ever since law school was Foggy opening the door to see Matt bleeding out on their communal furniture, looking at him for a beat before asking, “Why?” to which Matt would respond, “Oh. You know.” And then Foggy would sigh and head to his own bed.
