Guys it is so genuinely easy to not break into actors dressing rooms during stage door I’m gonna need everyone to stop doing that
Guys RUN to see Suffs on PBS and YouTube like right now
Like it’s literally free
Guys I do hate to say it bc obvs I want everyone to like win and be successful and get Tony awards but the wing NEVER saw mamma Mia as a revival they saw it as a tour. Even if it was technically eligible as a revival, it wasn’t to them.
The only way four shows are nominated is if five are eligible and voted upon.
It was always going to be three nominated for best revival.
*THIS IS NOT MEANT TO DRAG ANY SHOW IN ANY MEANS*
You ever think about how Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, and Terrence McNally like casually just wrote the most brilliantly perfect piece of art in Ragtime and it just hasn’t been perpetually running on Broadway since it first opened in 1998
Like there have been shows that have long surpassed Ragtime’s original 836 performance run that’s is just like what? (I won’t say which ones bc this is not the time or place but)
Anyways go see this production in NY rn if you can Joshua Henry’s Coalhouse is the performance of not just the year or decade but century truly.
Genuinely applied to a job that has found me like Robert Sean Leonard in the dead poets in nyc vlog.
Like I really want this job. Oh my god I want it so bad
Kinda crashing out that the DWTS casting announcement that happens on EARTH DAY was no one that had anything to do with the sciences like I’m begging pls get mf Reid Wiseman or something on the line right now
Like please put more astronauts on the dance floor
Petition to have the Artemis II crew on dancing with the stars but like as one unit and they win so they don’t get separated or sad
I love science people they’re so famous to me
Science people are more famous to me than reality tv or Internet personalities fr
Like Buzz Aldrin and Bill Nye were so cute
Like omg I love smart earth people
Yall don’t understand the NUMBERS that dancing with the stars had on like 5, 7, 10, and 20 year old me when Buzz Aldrin, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Bindi Irwin, and Robert Irwin were dancing like I was CLOCKED in to my DWTS shifts you best believe.
Dance is so cool and science is so cool and earth is so cool and space is so cool I love them merging
Does anyone have any movie recs? Due to various reasons I never really watched very many growing up with the exception of every Barbie or Disney Princess film and now that I have access to my family’s streaming services I wanna play catch up.
I’m not big in scary things/horror but literally anything else is free game as long as I can stream it
As for things/performances I’ve enjoyed in the past I really love anything Robin Williams, I’ve been on an Ethan Hawke grindset as of late, Amy Adams, love movie musicals, historical/period pieces, anything light hearted and fun, biopics, anything really I’m a backseat enjoyer and will eat up anything as long as it’s fun
Also this is so genuinely pls be so nice to me I don’t wanna sound uneducated and stupid :P
STEVE (58) WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE’S DOING WAS OFFERED A ROLE AT HIS LOCAL COMMUNITY THEATER
On my absolute Rogers and Hart GRINDSET rn I love them sm
Sometimes I have a dream that a celebrity dies and it’s so distressing to me that I gotta wake up and RUN to Google.
I would hate to be problematic or anything I’m refraining from yelling on the rooftops (maybe just like normally politely speaking on one)
But like I think the problem we’re seeing with Timothee Chalamet is what happens when the amount of awards is prioritized as the “success” deciding factor and not the quantity of the work made.
And I think you can really tell when something is made that the team (production + cast) truly believes in the project and wants to tell a story that is meaningful and important to them versus when it’s a ego boost wallet filler project.
Like to me it seems like (and I’m just pulling from the pieces + promotion I’ve seen of this specific season) that like Michael B Jordan really cared about Sinners and Ethan Hawke really cared about Blue Moon and to me that makes for two things:
1. A way more enjoyable movie seeing experience
2. A way more positive view of the actors/production. (Like ‘oh as a performer I would like to work with them’ or ‘as a fan I’d like to meet them’ view)
And I think that this attacking of other forms of art to like make yourself seem cool and relatable is going to scare people away from pursuing their dreams in the attacked art and will prevent us from ever seeing talent like the greats again.
He is stable (only knowing Barry Manilow through Copacabana)
You are deep (knowing of the PEAK art that is Harmony)
It’s crazy watching tv shows from 2000s-present where ppl from DPS like star or guest star in it bc I know them for dps society and in my head they’re still 16.
But like it’s weird bc it’s different for everyone like to me most of them like ARE 16 rn they are not in their fifties like I see like Josh Charles or something and my eyes see an adult man but my brain is like “no he’s in high school”
But like Robert Sean Leonard in Dead Poets Society and Robert Sean Leonard like 2000 onwards are two completely different people that the unions have just accidentally let have the same name.
But like Ethan Hawke in DPS is the same Ethan Hawke in Tape is the same Ethan Hawke in the Black Phone is the same Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon. Like he’s grown up and aged and whatever.
Also side note: to me Robin Williams was the same age from Dead Poets Society to Night at the Museum and I don’t know which way my brain aged him but like in my head he did not age at all from the 1980s to 2014.
Sometimes I forget I’m a visionary bc no one in my irl life understands ART and then every once in a while a post of mine from AGES ago gets a like or a comment or reblog or whatever and I see it again and I’m like “oh wait I COOKED with that”
The love song(s) in The Outsiders musical are not between Cherry and Ponyboy btw.
It’s Throwing in the Towel and Stay Gold.
The way figure skating and gymnastics like infect my brain to the point where if something bad happens during an event when the Olympics come around I will genuinely get sick to my stomach then promptly not think about the sport again for four years until the cycle continues for the next Olympics should be studied
(Also Katie Ledecky)
