It’s very easy to be single in Poland when you have such high standards as I do. And going into what I consider my ideal partner is never a good topic to discuss publically, as it’s very unlikely there’ll be a person that has every one of those attributes that I would consider ‘must-haves’ individually. And then it appears like I am being either unrealistic by expecting too much or I am unattainable.

And if you meet someone who you end up not liking for whatever reason, then yeah, absolutely tell them that it’s just not the thing for you. No reason to waste either your or their time. I’ve done it quite a few times, either directly after the date when they asked if we’d meet again; I just said I don’t think so, they’re just not really for me; or over text after the meeting if I didn’t feel like saying it in person. Don’t expend unnecessary energy by keeping up their hopes that they have a chance with you, when you aren’t into them anymore.
