((Wow it's been so long since I've signed into tumblr. It's filled with great memories of good people I used to do fun internet things with. Many in-character games of Cards Against Humanity online. I wonder if anyone of my pals still writes on here. If so, please like this or shoot me a message. I'm feeling the urge to write again but I also don't have a whole lot of time on my hands, but it's such good therapy for depression and my mental health is declining again. I just don't know how to get "back into the game" so to speak haha. Thinking of maybe starting a new blog but that takes so much effort and I remember how much I loved writing for 11. Ah well. Just little rambles, y'all. Take care!))

“You said you would be right back! That you just had to check something! That you would be back before I finished my coffee. Remember that? The coffee shop in Paris?”

“Oh, right... Paris.” the Doctor looked around for a second, taking in the awkward silence that was beginning to be deafening to his ears. Finally, he took a breath, letting out a sigh before he brought out his sonic screwdriver to fiddle with while he spoke. “How... Er... Late am I?”

"No, no! Please. Please! Please don't leave me."

It wasn’t easy. It was never easy. Saying goodbye to a companion- a friend was one of the more difficult things the Doctor had to do. He never wanted to do it, but things could never stay the same forever. It was too dangerous out there for most people and his friends always seemed to find their expiration date traveling with him one way or another.

“Jedi… You know I don’t want this, but it’s too risky for you now. You’ve nearly been killed more times than I’d like to admit and I can’t bring myself to let you live this way anymore.”

Looking up and over to the TARDIS, the Doctor sighed and turned his head back to Jedi. “I’m sorry.”

Jedi shook her head, unable to believe this was happening. He couldn’t just ditch her back home after everything? It just wasn’t right. It wasn’t the way this was meant to go? Of course she knew she couldn’t spend her entire life traveling with the Doctor but this soon after just a few trips? It just couldn’t happen this way.

“You can’t do this,” She said. “You can’t just ditch me here…” She grabbed hold of his hand, stopping him from leaving. “Doctor, please, don’t do this to me. I… I don’t care I’ve nearly been killed. It was worth it… it had to be done to safe those people. You can’t do this.”

How could he even consider just leaving her like this? “Please, don’t go…”

Feeling Jedi’s grip on his hand, he paused, using every bit of strength he could muster to not yank his hand away and run into the TARDIS to escape the painful goodbye. He very badly wanted to stuff his feelings down as he always did, but Jedi deserved better than that.

“I’m only doing this to save your life, Jedi. Just like you saved those people. It has to be done.”

It was gut wrenching to see his friend so upset, hearing her plead. The pain was nothing new to him, and he thought he would be numb to it by now, but that was turning out to be far from the truth.

“Look,” he said, giving in and pulling his hand away from hers, “if you stay with me, your life will eventually take a downward spiral and I’m just not going to let that happen to you.”

“I’ve just been travelling!”

The Doctor’s stupid smile dropped a bit. Her words seemed more serious than usual. Less annoyed, more angry sounding.

“Why? Is something wrong?”

One-thousand and thirty? The Doctor knew in his hearts that humans in this day and age hadn’t yet started referring to time that way. It wouldn’t happen for another 29,746 years, in fact. Obviously this woman was from the future, but had forgotten the ways of people from the past.

But how did she get here? He was beginning to get paranoid Missy was involved with this somehow.

He leaned in closer to the girl, looking from side to side before he spoke.

“Listen. I’m not going to tell anyone your secrets. I don’t even want to know how you got here, but in order for you to blend in, you have to use the people of the pasts words for time.”

Placing a hand on her shoulder, he caught an intense gaze with the stranger.

“And you really can’t be doing things as obvious as taking ‘how to tell time’ classes. It’s too obvious. Don’t you remember what they taught you about time keeping in history class?”

It was becoming more and more apparent that this was just a normal woman from the 21st century. In fact, the Doctor was almost embarrassed by his own misjudgment about this whole thing. “Right, well-” he was about to speak more when she started speaking French. “Oh-… Er… Je parle Francais aussi!… J’mappelle the Doctor. Et vous?”

The only sentences he remembered from French class were ‘I speak french too!’ and ‘My name is the Doctor. And you?’ He also remembered ‘Mon chat est de trente livres de surpoids’ which means ‘my cat is thirty pounds overweight’ but thankfully he managed to gather two other sentences from his brain that were of a lot more use in this situation.

“Eh Voulez-vous dancer! Beyonce, je m’appelle Kimmy, Paris, Eiffel Tower, Lafayette!” Kimmy said in a mock French accent, trying to come over as someone who could actually speak French as well… though she was failing miserably! What were the chances of meeting someone who can speak French in America? Americans already hate speaking English let alone another language.

It became more and more clear to her that this man was… strange to say the least. Though she adored his bow-tie and his super cool tweed trousers! It made him look like a professor in those college movies Titus is always on about.

This girl was very confusing. First she spoke French, now she was listing off words. It didn’t make sense, though nothing in the Doctor’s life ever really did make sense so her babbling was well suited. She was kind of charming, really. Weird, and very silly, but charming nonetheless.

Catching one phrase from her nonsensical speech, he smiled, looking her in the eye as he grabbed his suit jacket with a slight tug and said, “Well, hello Kimmy! It’s nice to meet you.”

A yelp let out as the woman twisted his arm and he straightened himself up when she let go, taking a few steps away from the lady to avoid further altercations. Where were his manners anyway? It’s not exactly polite to lay your hands on strangers even if they came from the future to ruin things. Certainly he wouldn’t be placing a hand near her again. Besides, his arm was currently in no state to do anything but dangle at his side like a bruised noodle.

“I’m sorry,” he stated, referring to the touching thing, “it won’t happen again.”

Adjusting his arm and taking a second to breathe, he answered her question. “Well, if I’m correct, they teach time-telling in history class where you’re from, so yes, you probably should have.”

Reminder. If you’re rping a canon character and feeling insecure about your writing, or fearing replacement, simply remember that your muse is not just a duplicate. No one else will be able to breathe life into that character the way you do. No one else will feel the exact way you feel about your muse. There will be people who value your muse and never stop writing with you no matter what. There will be people who appreciate your portrayal, no matter how many other versions are out there. Always remember why you made your blog. Never let anyone or anything cast your passion out of your heart !!
