An update on my life...
Since last posting on this blog my life has been full of changes, discoveries and meeting new people.
From a student point of view:
I changed my degree from education to sports and recreation management. Which was one of the scariest decisions, but the best decision I ever made.
I had too much confidence going into my second year, so my grades got a hit, but the semester is not over yet. ;)
From a athlete point of view:
I became a student athlete after making the cross-country team. Unfortunately, because of injuries I couldn’t do any of the races this season. (There’s still hope for track season.
I learned the hard way that listening to your body is the best way to avoid injuries...
From a personal point of view:
I discovered new places in Atlantic Canada and learned more about my Acadian culture.
I made a lot of new friends staying in residence for a second year from all over Canada.
I met two people that became my best friends almost immediately.
I cut out people who I thought were my friends out of my life.
Lastly, I learned that the most important thing is not peoples opinion on you, it’s the opinion you have on yourself that’s more important.
With that you guys are updated on my life!
Stay tuned for more blog posts!:)

Maybe I’m not the best in your life but I just hope that one day when you hear my name you will smile and say she was different.
The problem with the stigma around mental health is really about the stories that we tell ourselves as a society.

I tell skaters that if you can stand at center ice, and wait for music and dance to the music on skinny little blades wearing something that your mother made for you... If you can get through that, there ain't much else left out there that's gonna intimidate you.

Halifax/Stars on Ice 2016
Officially going to the Stars on Ice show in Halifax.
Story time!!!
So last weekend I competed in my last competition of my 11 year figure skating career in my hometown. Little did anyone know (including my mom and my coach) I did this competition with a small bone in my foot out of place. (Oups)
At the beggining of March I was very frustrated with one of my jumps and instead of stopping and moving on I tried it again and it was on time to many. I got of the ice to check on my foot and there was a huge bump on my right foot (which is my landing leg). I showed my mom and coach who tried to convince me to go to the emergency room but failed because I wasn’t to worried about it.
Fast forward to last weekend. By this time my foot wasn’t hurting that much so I didn’t tell anyone. I was competing on Friday and Saturday and my club was hosting the competition so I was ice captain on Sunday (definition below). Friday/Saturday was great no pain but on Sunday I just wanted to cut my foot off.
After the competition was over my mom drove me to the emergency room at 7 PM but then four ambulances arrived they only called my name to see if I needed x-rays at 12:30 AM. Now I need x-rays and the x-ray tech was smoking hot while I was wearing sweats with a high bun and no makeup. My day was not going well so far. So he called me again for my results and my foot was broken since the beginning of March. We got out of the emergency at 2:30 in the morning with a prescription for crutches.
The End.
Ice captain : The person who opens and closes the board doors and makes sure that all skaters are present at figure skating competitions.
