Hey guys! I’m sorry we haven’t been updating this blog as frequently as we want to, and less so with our own experiences/content. 

This blog really helps me organize my thoughts and brings me a sense of joy, which I’m rediscovering, so I really want to be more active again here. 

I have some things I’m planning to post about, including regular grimoire updates and some of the successful (and maybe some of the unsuccessful) spells I’ve done recently and FINALLY going through and answering all of the asks that have piled up.

tl;dr is this blog is gonna be more active soon, we love you guys lots, thank you for being patient and sticking with us <3

spell for the tide-waiter 🌊

a charm to bring patience to the owner, or influence an area

🌊 gather: bowl of seawater, twine, almond, lavender and an orange

🌊 bundle lavender together, tie together with twine and tie hook.

🌊 prepare seawater with orange. soak thoroughly. 

🌊 dip the lavender in the water three times, each waiting for the water to still.

🌊 tie the almond as part of the bundle.

🌊 hang in the respective home.

Something I learned from my father about horseshoes

If you find a horseshoe on a property that you have bought and are about to build on, hang it open-end-up above the front door on the inner wall. If you find a horseshoe in an old house you have bought, do not take it down. It is a very strong good luck charm.

If you hang it open-end-down, all of your luck and wealth will run out.

If you hang it open-end-up, you will have an influx of good luck and abundance. 

An old horseshoe is a very powerful token and should not be scoffed at. You will have bad luck if you pass it over. 

Once you have hung a horseshoe, do not take it down. Leave it hanging above the threshold when you leave and pass on your good luck.

I was taught this, too!! 

My mom’s grandpa owned horses, and while he wasn’t a superstitious man, he used to do this. When he passed away, everyone went and found a horseshoe on the family farm and has it hanging above a doorway :)

lip balm is great for glamours and the weather’s crap everywhere, i think, so don’t forget lip balm or your lips will hurt and burn, says the person whose lips died because they forgot their lip balm for a week. anyway, here we go:

i. before going to bed take your bowl of water, add in your rose petals (whatever colour you prefer) and a teaspoon of ginger. let it sit until the morning.

ii. once you’re ready to go through another amazing day  wet your lip balm with the water before applying it. you can use the rest of the water as a mist if you’ve got a spray bottle (dunno, i like the smell of ginger)

I got these cute ziplock sort of baggies that look like mason jars. I thought they’d be perfect spell jars for people who don’t have enough space for lots of jars or if you wanted to carry them around!

Yes! On this blog, neither of us are Catholic or any branch of Christianity. So a lot of our stuff may not relate to Catholicism, but you can always tailor it to fit you and your religion! I'm about halfway through my second grimoire and I got a new binder that I want to put all my stuff in so it's in order but I'll end up rewriting a lot of my information. Do you think it's okay to start a new grimoire even though I haven't finished this one?

DIY Glass Runes

Willow here! I’ve long admired the beautiful runes at my local metaphysical shop but can’t afford them. I know there are a lot of witches out there like me who don’t have a lot of money, so I thought I’d show how I make my own.

Materials: * Glass beads: $1 at Dollar Tree * Sharpie: ~$1 at most drugstores like CVS * List of runes: found online

Steps:

1. Pick your runes. You can go with what I’ve found to be most popular among witches, the Elder Futhark, or a more idiosyncratic set, like the Witches’ Runes. I chose the Witches’ Runes because they resonated with me more than the Elder Futhark.

2. Find a reference online for the shapes and meanings. This is what I used for the Witches’ Runes I made:

3. Select as many gems as you need for your set. The Witches’ Runes are thirteen symbols, so I pulled out thirteen gems that were the least scratched and most smooth.

4. Draw the symbols on each gem.

That’s it! Draw each symbol on a gem and then you’re ready to read them.

What was the difference between a grimoire, a book of shadows, and what you’re supposed to write in both?

By our understanding, they are both pretty similar however the difference we found is that a book of shadows is kind of more of like a spell book, and a grimoire is kind of like a personal reference book used for what YOU would like in it. For example for a grimoire, you could use tarot, spells that you would like to try or have tried and work, different recipes, crystals and their meanings, candles and their color meaning, etc.. I was told by a mentor who is a priestess of Aphrodite and Idunn that a good substitute to rose quartz is plastic hearts you can get at craft stores AND most craft stores like micheals will have fake gems and crystals that work just the same. "Its not about the rock it's about the intent" is something you need to remember 💖💖💖

Beacon for Pet Remembrance

Recently, the dog I had for my entire life passed away. It’s left me feeling empty inside and having panic attacks and bad dreams from thinking about where she might be, and if she’s happy. 

This is a very simple, small spell to allow your pet to be able to find their way home, if they so wish, or to act simply as a reminder that you are there and thinking of them.

Items needed:

A white candle

Their favorite toys/items that remind you of them--my dog loved peanut butter dog treats, so I used those, and her name was Lucky, so I added a horseshoe

Sigils for peace, remembrance, and home

Steps:

Cleanse yourself and your space, and go through whatever pre-ritual preparations you have

Light the candle. 

Draw the sigils on the candle, saying, ‘Even if you are no longer home, home will always be here for you.’ Say the words as clearly as you can.

Place the items around the candle, focusing on the joy and happiness they brought your pet

Close your eyes and repeat, ‘Even if you are no longer home, home will always be here for you, [name].’ Personalize it if you want to--call out to them by their nickname, tell them how much you miss them, and how happy you are that they’re free and in peace.

Place the candle somewhere that’s in a place you’ll be around often, so you can always have it in your periphery (both for safety, and for remembrance). Try not to move the candle much, as it’s meant to be a beacon for them to know where you are. 

Carefully blow the candle out when you believe enough time has passed, but leave the candle in the same place for at least a day. Repeat however often as you need.

I hope this helps bring some small amount of peace to someone.

Emoji spells are a worse debate topic than modern politics or religion 

Playing music in the background to help promote a vibe during a ritual

Different electric tea lights colors instead of different wax candle colors (bonus: making it feel very witchy by placing them in a crystal grid)

Air humidifier with essential oils instead of incense 

Your phone is sort of like an artificial servitor 

Being a huge nerd and making correspondences to things like electronic lights (since white light is achieved by RGB and R can represent the physical/material forms since it’s the lowest wavelength, G the emotional and B the mental and all together they make white that is everything and the spiritual).

Easy hexing since you can just print out your enemy’s Facebook profile picture
