This gorgeous young lady is Tatiana Romanov. The second oldest child of the Tsar in the early 20th century, she was not considered as talented as her older sister, the brainy but flawed Olga, (who is also on this blog), but she worked harder and completed the projects she took on. She was considered the leader of her siblings, and was the most well-known daughter of the Grand Duchesses.
Tatiana was thought of as the most beautiful of her sisters, and I concur. I’m not exactly not straight, but if she liked girls and was alive and society allowed it, I’d try my luck*.
*(Romantically try my luck, lol.)

Matthias Brown
A small sampling of the works you will find on TraceLoops, Mathias Brown’s tumblr that features his work: some rotoscoping, some other exploration with tracing, some other things. In his own words: “ I make stuff, art things mostly. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from SCAD Atlanta. I was the only person in my class to simultaneously take a welding course and history of film as electives while learning how to set up InDesign files for print.”

Laura Hospes
Laura Hospes is one of the 50 best emerging photographers for 2015, as voted by international jury for the LensCulture Emerging Talent Awards 2015. She was also one of the eight “jurors’ picks.” Here is her winning entry and her artist’s statement.
I’m portraying myself in a very difficult moment of my life: I’m depressed and suicidal. My self-portraits are a direct reflection of my emotions, which I can’t show in real life. My camera is my consolation and listens to me better than anyone else.
I want to share the difficulties and loneliness I feel right now. I want to let you feel the pain and fear I feel, even if it’s just a fraction. I want you to be with me in my situation so that I feel less alone.

Solar energy that doesn’t block the view
A team of researchers at Michigan State University has developed a new type of solar concentrator that when placed over a window creates solar energy while allowing people to actually see through the window. It is called a transparent luminescent solar concentrator and can be used on buildings, cell phones and any other device that has a clear surface. And, according to Richard Lunt of MSU’s College of Engineering, the key word is “transparent.”

Moving to Brazil, asap
Fellow Canadians, don’t get too comfortable because people are predicting successes for the NDP and, at the very least, Harper’s downfall. I still remember what happened in BC’s last provincial election. Every reputable news source was predicting a win for the BC NDP. Instead of that, we got Christy Clark and her BC Liberals once again.
Don’t get complacent and don’t expect a victory. Every vote is important. Educate yourself and those around you. Keep talking about the importance of voting and the pros/cons of various parties/prime ministers.
