Under the sea algae and flowers! So cute!
Some people have been wanting to visit me, but aren’t sure where I am, so here you go!
Pictures of two of the animals I ran into yesterday! SO CUTE!!!
Ew newbie behavior
Cool little plants!
I’ve been doing some research on plants recently! Some of my favorites are:
Tideweed- deep purple and blue algae that uses holdfasts to stay in place
Greegs- Green grass that uses the sunlight shining on the ocean for photosynthesis
Salt Cabbage- A roughly hand-shaped algae that will expand as to reach sunlight.
Petan- A daisy-like flower that absorbs water and carbon dioxide for “food”
Boaed- A collection of small plants that group together. They built up a strong resistance for a lack of oxygen in case they can’t access some.
So sad to see the overfishing :(
Quick rant
I’ll be honest- life hasn’t been easy. Fossil-fuel burning keeps giving me the worst fevers! Every time I heat up I feel like my whole ecosystem just falls apart. The breeding, migration, and life cycles around me are all up in the air!
Things have just gotten worse- marine animals were moving farther North to find cooler waters, and a few were stranded because of plastic pollution! I feel so bad for the little guys! Overfishing/Industrial has NOT made this easier
Cute Animals!
I went swimming today! I found a bunch of new animals! My friend even took notes on some of them:
Octopus with three tentacles - tripus (octopus, latin prefix “tri” for three) eat clams, shrimp, fish, etc. with their tentacles - tentacles help navigate underwater
Zebra manta ray - quagga ray (quagga, part of zebra scientific name, ray) eats plankton, small fish, etc. - survive well in the dark to hide from predators
Transparent squid - pellucid teuthida (pellucid meaning transparent, teuthida scientific name for squid) eat fish, other squid, etc…. big predators due to transparency, hard to hunt (overpopulation?) - transparent to hide from predators
huge turtles (talking like 6ft tall, 12 wide here) -chelonuan (scientific name name for turtle, chelonia, and gargantuan, huge, mix) omnivores, eat sea grasses/weeds/algae, larger scale animals like bigger fish and maybe even to the size of sharks & similar - hard shell and big enough to defend itself, slow
Tiny bear-like creatures living underwater - aquatic ursamini (aquatic, underwater; ursa, bear; mini, small) carnivorous, eat small fish, clams, etc - moves quickly to prevent attackers
Someone come over!
I haven’t seen anyone in forever! Why don’t people visit me? C’mon, me friends and I supply more than half of Earth’s oxygen, we have 90% of the volcanic activity, and I have over 1 million species!

About me post
Hey guys- here’s my super cringy “about me” post! Let’s see... I’m a coastal ocean biome, and I can get kinda windy sometimes. I average about 39° f, but it can change a LOT due to latitude and depth. I have friends from all over, but I’m in near America to the East and Asia and Australia to the West. I don’t really have seasons, and, not to brag or anything, but I average about 50 inches of rain a year.
