SMS gateway in 5 minutes

This is a quick tutorial on creating a web based SMS gateway to a phone number. After completing this you will get a URL which you can use to send SMS to the mobile phone which can be used to alert you or integrate with systems such as https://ifttt.com/. 

Instructions

Send a SMS to "REG NM" to 77250

Send a SMS to "NM token" to 77250. This will reply you with a token. You gonna need this later on.

Open this URL http://notify-me.net/api/index.php/sms/<token>/<the message you want to send>. For example : http://notify-me.net/api/index.php/sms/smtoken/hello world 

Sample Use-cases

Simple feedback form on your site which people can contact you directly via SMS. Remember to change the token with the token your obtained via SMS.

Register to NotifyMe

First step is to register a mobile phone to get SMS notifications. This can be done by sending the following message to 77250 from any Dialog GSM connection.

REG NM

*NotifyMe will cost you Rs. 30 per month. No cost for any of the message from the system or to the system afterwards. It is just Rs. 1 per day.

Follow some channels

Next is to follow some channels. You can follow any number of channels. You can either use the website to follow channels or use the mobile phone as well.

To subscribe to a known channel simply send the following message to 77250

Create Channels (Optional)

One you login via website you can create custom channels and allow people to register to your channel as well.
