in summary he pointed out how the goddamn ARCHITECTURE contributes to sparking’s theme.

notice how it looks like two beys stacked on each other? it’s a clear representation of hikaru and hyuga. HOWEVER… look to the left and there’s a little space that looks like there should be another bey present.

that empty space represents lain.

it’s a symbol of his unwillingness to join the twins in their “good flare” and his self-isolation. he’s ultimately the missing third to their “flare trio” but he doesn’t feel the need for anyone to help him. he sees people as the means to an end and not a genuine support system. his whole arc is sooooo good and watching him connect the red string between his observations of the other tag teams and shu’s guidance is such a satisfying experience. his redemption feels earned. gosh…

sparking is such cinema.

i’m so glad i got to rewatch it with him.

im practicing a new coloring and shading style! i grew really tired of my shapeless, old form of rendering things. i wanted to try something sharper—more defined, if you may. and who's a better victim for my experimentalism but mister discolored-red eye himself.
