my fav relationship ship dynamic is where it doesn't matter if you call it platonic or romantic or queerplatonic because they always act the same in every type of relationship. and the way they act? fucking weird.
anyone else notice how when "digital assistants" were just supposed to do specific tasks when you asked for them we had Alexa and Siri and Cortana, but now that they're being marketed as smart enough to take actions and make decisions on their own they've got names like Claude and Devin
@namanie @tsunderrated the point isn't "fake names -> real names," it's "feminine names -> masculine names"

when people defend the âCis white guy is defaultâ thing like âHeâs meant to be an everyman we can all relate to and project on!â kindly remind them the largest ethnic group in the WORLD is Han Chinese and the highest gender percentage fluctuates so if you want an ACTUAL  âdefaultâ you want a 40 year old chinese person whose gender changes from year to year. Â
#give us the middle-aged gender fluid Chinese protagonist that we can all relate to and project on (via @mr-and-mr-pavus)
Iâm glad that OP:
1) Figured this out.
2) Shared so others can learn from their mistake.
I love jaywalking with another pedestrian lol weâre unionized
I explained the concept of "blorbo from my shows" to my 71 year old immigrant grandfather because I referenced it in passing and I thought nothing of it, until today when he said "I think I'll watch peaky blinders tonight and see my blorbo from my shows" referring, of course, to Cillian Murphy playing Tommy Shelby
English isn't his first language so he's not super in touch with modern slang, so I've been accidentally teaching him to talk like a tumblr user. His favorite thing to say lately is "me when I'm a little hater" when he's like talking shit about the neighbor's son
I explained the âx before gta6â meme to my immigrant father and he, in turn, explained to me how back in his day in Romania, they had the same type of joke, except instead of it being gta6, it was about the imminent death of a singer named GicÄ Petrescu, who everyone was continuously shocked by because he refused to die. Every time a momentous event happened people would say, in essence: âThis happened and GicÄ Petrescu hasnât even died yet?!?â
So. He understood the gta6 meme immediately because they apparently had the same thing in Romania when he was young, except way, way more morbid
there is something to the classic lesson taught in ballet (and other) that if you screw something up just keep dancing.
"the audience doesn't know what was supposed to happen, the worst thing you can do is flinch and in doing so admit something wasn't planned"
anyway that's why i'm so smooth all the time.
as my favorite jazz teacher says: "if you hit a wrong note... hit it again"
Same in theater and acting! The audience doesn't know your lines or what you were supposed to do. Just keep going and pretend you didn't mess anything up. No one will notice.

mutuals can always dm me but be warned i talk like your coworker who is trying too hard to get to know you and my response times are akin to the response times you might get if we were communicating by letter
I tried my hand at making name badges for two of my sonas đđ«§

I know the meaning would get diluted practically immediately, but sometimes I do wish that in addition to Character / Character and Character & Character, we had a Character ? Character relationship tag type on AO3, for those 'whatever those two have going on' type relationships
i have [gestures vaguely] my tendencies
so what you're gonna do is you're gonna trim the top off a bulb of garlic, using the knife's edge to take off the tip of every individual clove, that's important. you're gonna place the garlic face-up in a square of tinfoil, drizzle with olive oil, wrap completely in foil, place in baking tray, repeat with a copious amount of garlic bulbs. you're gonna put that baking tray in an oven set to 375-400°F, for 30-50 minutes, until soft and browned. you're gonna toast some good bread, slather generously with butter and honey, maybe a tiny lil bit o' salt. and then. you're gonna SQUEEZE. OUT. THAT. ROASTED GARLIC. onto the butter honey toast. and you're gonna eat it. food stolen directly from the plate of the gods. that's what you're gonna do.
the garlic. it beckons you
It occurs to me that "1920s gangster doing a cooking show while holding you at gunpoint" is an untapped market.
We've had normal cooking shows. Now we need period piece cooking shows in character.
